(Image: PTI/File) The Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor, commonly known as the ‘NICE’ corridor, has faced a significant setback as the Karnataka High Court criticised the project’s lack of progress and told the state government to consider abandoning it. The Karnataka High Court reprimanded the project for accomplishing just 1 km of the proposed 111-km corridor in the last two decades. Additionally, the court noted, none of the five satellite townships planned since 1995 to decongest Bengaluru have been realised. ‘Only 1 Km Built In 25 Years’: HC Asks Karnataka Govt To Scrap Bengaluru-Mysuru Corridor Project | India News

(File image) The Karnataka High Court has directed the state government to re-look implementation of Bangalore Mysore Expressway and Infrastructure Corridor project and consider discarding it as it has remained only on paper over the past 30 years. A division bench of Justice D K Singh and Justice Venkatesh Naik T said that no purpose would be served by keeping the project alive in its present form, as only one kilometre of the proposed expressway has been constructed in over 25 years.
