The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE)’s decision to issue a Non Cooperative Directive has evoked responses from netizens and film industry. One of the first reactions to visit to come was from filmmaker Sanjay Gupta. FWICE member Ashok Dubey has responded to Sanjay Gupta’s tweet. Dubey revealed that the film bodies had helped Sanjay when Jackie Shroff didn’t like a dialogue in the film and walked out of the film. “I want to ask Sanjay Gupta ji that when a few years back his film Mumbai Saga was being shot and Jackie Shroff ne aane se mana kar diya, ye hi IFTDA aur federation ne hi mil ke problem solve karvaya tha. Ram Gopal Varma says ‘banning social media for minors’ after Ghaziabad sisters’ suicide can have serious consequences: ‘Rationale sounds noble, but…’ | Bollywood News

3 min readKochiFeb 10, 2026 02:24 PM IST Although days have passed since the alleged suicide of three minor sisters in Ghaziabad, the mystery continues to shroud the case, and with each passing day, new and more twisted details are emerging, casting a shadow of suspicion over the unfortunate incident. However, social media seems to still be fixated on early reports that the minors — aged 12, 14, and 16 — allegedly took the extreme step due to “excessive online gaming” and a purported obsession with “Korean culture.” As a result, a section of netizens has been demanding restrictions or a complete ban on minors’ access to social media. Now, veteran filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has stepped forward to denounce such demands, saying the move could have serious consequences for children. In a long post on X (formerly Twitter) titled “Ban the Banners,” Varma asserted that prohibiting social media access to minors to “protect” them will, in turn, hinder their progress in the “hyper-competitive global information economy.” Pointing out that deeming social media as merely …

Odisha’s Koraput District Revokes Order Banning Non-Vegetarian Food Sale on Republic Day

Odisha’s Koraput District Revokes Order Banning Non-Vegetarian Food Sale on Republic Day

The Koraput district administration in Odisha on Sunday revoked its controversial order prohibiting the sale of non-vegetarian food items on Republic Day. “The instruction was issued purely on the suggestion of the District Level Republic Day Preparatory Committee. Now, after careful consideration, the aforesaid Letter No. 93 dated 23.01.2026 is hereby revoked with immediate effect,” read a fresh notification issued by the administration. Koraput District Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan had on Friday issued the order, directing tehsildars, block development officers (BDOs) and executive officers of civic bodies in the district to issue official notifications in their jurisdictions to prohibit the sale of non-vegetarian food. This subsequently created a controversy, with many taking to social media, saying the collector had no authority to issue such an order. Officials familiar with the matter said that during a preparatory meeting, some people had flagged the sale of non-vegetarian food items in major urban areas at a time when students participate in patriotic march-pasts. Citing that Koraput is a predominantly tribal region, with Scheduled Tribes comprising over 50% of …

‘Cold war’ between Mohammed Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar had them banning each other for 3 years, contesting each other’s Guinness Book claims | Bollywood News

Hindi film music has been a part of our movies ever since we started making talkies in the 1930s. By the 1940s, when the music industry started to develop its legs and composers, singers and lyric writers started to gain prominence, there were a few titans that emerged, who continued to rule the space for the next few decades. Amongst the singers, Mohammed Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar became the voices that became synonymous with Hindi film music. Sure, other singers were respected just as much, but the kind of popularity that Rafi and Lata experienced was unmatched. And it was, perhaps, this popularity that led to a few clashes between them. So much so that the two did not even record with each other for three years, and for singers in their prime, who were known to sing every other song with each other, this was a lifetime. Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammed Rafi first recorded with each other in 1947. The song was called ‘Chalo Ho gayi Tayyar’ and it was a part of a …

Character.AI launches Stories for teens after banning them from chats

Character.AI, under threat from several lawsuits over its alleged negative impact on teen mental health, is banning underage users from open-ended chats on its site. Instead, teens will be allowed to use a new “Stories” format that, unlike regular chats, offers “structured” choose-your-own-adventure-style experiences with the AI characters on its platform. The feature is available to everyone, but Character.AI is pitching it as a way to “enhance” the experience for users under 18. In October, Character.AI announced that it would shut down chats for teens on November 25th while it develops an age assurance feature that will automatically place underage users into “more conservative” AI chats. Stories works by allowing users to choose from two or three AI characters, select a genre, and then either write their own premise or use AI to create one for them. Character.AI will then create a “guided narrative” where users can make frequent choices that change the course of the story. The experience also includes AI-generated images, with “richer multimodal elements coming soon.” Disclaimer: We do not own any …
