A federal judge has issued a temporary order prohibiting removal of a 5-year-old Ecuadorian boy and his father whose arrest last week in Minnesota quickly become another lightning rod for America’s divisions on immigration under the Trump administration. Judge issues temporary order barring removal of boy, 5, and father who were detained in Minnesota U.S. Judge Fred Biery ruled Monday that any removal or transfer of 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos and his father, Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias, is on hold while a court case proceeds. The father and son are now at family detention facility in Dilley, Texas, near San Antonio. They were taken into custody last week outside their home in Minnesota. Neighbors and school officials say that federal immigration officers used the preschooler as “bait” by telling him to knock on the door to his house so that his mother would answer. The Department of Homeland Security has called that description of events an “abject lie.” It said the father, Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias, fled on foot and left the boy, Liam Conejo …

Box Office: Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 continues underwhelming run of Chiyaan Vikram barring Ponniyin Selvan movies

Box Office: Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 continues underwhelming run of Chiyaan Vikram barring Ponniyin Selvan movies

Tamil actor Chiyaan Vikram’s latest release, Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2, has finally hit theaters after a long wait, but the journey hasn’t been an easy one. The film was caught in a legitimate tangle with financier B4U over OTT rights, which led to cancellation of morning shows and matinees as well in almost all the territories. The film made it to the enormous screen only by the evening, losing important prime-time openings.  This unexpected setback had a direct impact on its box office numbers, making its debut a quiet one rather than the explosive opening fans were hoping for. To make things more challenging, Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 arrived on the same day as L2 Empuraan, which has been on a record-breaking spree, already crossing ₹100 crore worldwide in just two days. In contrast, Vikram’s film managed to clock only ₹3.85 crore gross on Day 1 and saw a slight dip to ₹3.5 crore on the second day. Interestingly, critics and audiences have given Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 highly positive reviews. Some …

“Barring Rishabh Pant…”: Sanjay Manjrekar’s Blunt ‘Survival’ Message To Gautam Gambhir And Co. On India’s Flaws

“Barring Rishabh Pant…”: Sanjay Manjrekar’s Blunt ‘Survival’ Message To Gautam Gambhir And Co. On India’s Flaws

The India vs New Zealand third Test is poised at an interesting juncture. India have reduced New Zealand to nine-down in Mumbai, bus the visitors have a lead of 143 runs at stumps on Day 2. If the last Kiwi pair cane push the lead to even 160s, it will be a tricky affair for India batting at the Wankhede Stadium in the fourth innings. India are already down 2-0 in the three-match series, and need to win or draw this match to avoid being clean-sweeped at home. After New Zealand were restricted to 235 in the first innings, India took a slender lead as they were out for 263 in the first innings.  Former India star Sanjay Manjrekar was not happy with the batting style of Indian batters, especially against spin. “For starters, the batting coach could slowly introduce the Ind batters to the wonders of back foot play v spinners. Will make survival easier, so also run scoring. Barring Pant, all main batters got out to spin while on front foot,” Sanjay …

Rajput mahapanchayat calls for ‘boycott’ of BJP leaders, barring Yogi, in Muzaffarnagar | India News

A mahapanchayat of the Rajput community held in Kheda village under the Muzaffarnagar Lok Sabha constituency on Tuesday declared its decision to “boycott BJP candidates” in the first phase of general elections in Uttar Pradesh in protest against “non-implementation of government schemes, rise in unemployment, Agniveer Scheme and insult of the Rajput Samaj”. The boycott call, however, did not apply to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who, the community leaders, said was their voice which was “not being heard by central BJP leadership”. During the mahapanchayat, which was organised by “chaubisi” — a conglomerate of 24 villages falling under Siwal Khas (Baghpat), Sardhana (Meerut) and Khatauli (Muzaffarnagar) Assembly seats symbolising Rajput power — community leaders “pledged their support” for SP candidate Harendra Malik in Muzaffarnagar. In other Lok Sabha seats in the region, they said “they will vote for the candidate who is in a position to defeat the BJP”. Referring to two former Prime Ministers — V P Singh and Chandra Shekhar from the Rajput community — the leaders asked why they have …

SC upholds Rajasthan rule barring those with more than 2 kids from police force: What is the case | Explained News

The Supreme Court has affirmed the Rajasthan government’s decision to bar candidates with more than two children from applying for a police constable post. A Bench of Justices Surya Kant, Dipankar Datta, and K V Viswanathan ruled that Rule 24(4) of the Rajasthan Police Subordinate Service Rules, 1989, which stipulates a maximum limit of two children per candidate, is non-discriminatory and constitutional. What do the 1989 Rules say? The Rajasthan Police Subordinate Service Rules, 1989, apply to the entire police establishment in the state of Rajasthan. Rule 2(j) of the 1989 Rules defines “police establishment” to include the Police Department, the Anti-Corruption Department, and other such units as specified by the Director General-cum-Inspector General of Police from time to time. Broadly, Rule 24 deals with “Disqualification for Appointment.” Apart from those with over two children on or after June 1, 2002, it also disqualifies male candidates with more than one living wife, unless the government is satisfied there exist special grounds for it. Similarly, female candidates married to those who already have a living wife …
