The police were in the process of registering an offence against the organisers. The incident took place on the premises of Royal Palms, a privately owned event venue located on Koregaon Park Mundhwa Road. Police said that a formal permission for the event had been sought by the organisers from the Pune police commissioner office and was granted to them. A team of local police went to the location after receiving reports about the accident. “Four persons were injured in the incident as the steel beam collapsed during the celebration. They were rushed to the Sassoon General Hospital,” an officer from Mundhwa police station said. In the recent incident, a powerful laser directed skyward from somewhere around the airport beamed into the cockpit of the Air India flight and momentarily blinded the pilots as they were preparing to land at Kolkata airport on Thursday evening.
