The Delhi government has initiated the process for decongestion and beautification of the area around Anand Vihar Interstate bus Terminus (ISBT) — a perpetual congestion and pollution hotspot in east Delhi. Under the plan, for which bids were invited last week, 1.2km road from EDM Mall foot over bridge to Anand Vihar U-turn will be redeveloped, said senior government officials. Anand Vihar is consistently ranked as one of the most severe pollution and traffic congestion hotspots in the Delhi. Kumbh Mela: Expert panel formed for beautification of Nashik and Trimbakeshwar

As preparations for the Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027 enter a crucial phase, the Nashik Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority (NTKMA) has formed a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for city beautification. The committee has been set up to ensure that all urban design and beautification works in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar are planned in a structured, sensitive and expert-led manner, ahead of the large influx of pilgrims expected during the Kumbh Mela. The Technical Advisory Committee will act as an advisory and mentorship body to the NTKMA and its consultants. It will provide technical guidance and review at all stages of the project, including planning, design, tendering and implementation of beautification works. Specialists from multiple fields The committee includes experts from environmental landscape planning, urban design, conservation architecture, cultural and heritage studies, and public art. Mr Garg on Monday conducted a whirlwind inspection of various development works, including the installation of high-intensity light poles along RK Beach, construction of beach sand poles, and the progress of road, footpath, painting, lighting, greenery, and beautification works from Park Hotel and Siripuram Junction up to Andhra University Grounds. He issued several instructions to officials to complete all works by Tuesday (November 11). Harendira Prasad has directed the officials concerned to make the parks and tourist spots more attractive. As part of the CII Partnership Summit scheduled to be organised in Visakhapatnam on November 14 and 15, many delegates from India and abroad would visit the city and might tour local tourist destinations, he said, and directed the officials to take appropriate measures. In the process of identifying a location for the ‘Gala Dinner’ to the delegates, which is likely to be hosted on November 13, the Collector visited several parks, including VMRDA Park, MGM Park, Sea Harriers, TU-142 Aircraft Museum, Submarine Museum, and Tenneti Park. He reviewed the conditions at each site and discussed with officials the feasibility of arranging the dinner and other activities at these venues.
