Harsha Bhogle’s Swipe At Airline

Harsha Bhogle’s Swipe At Airline

New Delhi: Cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle on Sunday took a swipe at IndiGo over what he claimed was the airline’s “passenger last” and “rude” attitude. He said one day he might invite the airline staff to his house for dinner, but make them wait outside until the table is set. Mr Bhogle did not specify any reason for taking the swipe at the domestic carrier, but it appeared the cricket personality was complaining about having to wait for a flight despite its scheduled departure.  “One day I am going to invite people from IndiGo home for dinner and ask them to wait outside the door till the table is laid and the food is cooked. Always Indigo first, passenger Last,” Mr Bhogle said in a post on X.   One day I am going to invite people from @IndiGo6E home for dinner and ask them to wait outside the door till the table is laid and the food is cooked. #Rude. Harsha Bhogle’s Clear Verdict On Reports Of BCCI To Limit Families’ Presence. Says “Ban…”

Harsha Bhogle feels the BCCI should prohibit players from having personal PR agencies.© X (Twitter) In the aftermath of India’s loss to Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy last week, reports have been rampant on social media, claiming that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to implement stricter protocols during tours. ESPNcricinfo reported that the BCCI will limit the players spending time with their families on tours, adding that the family members can’t can only be with them for not more than 14 days during a tour comprising of 45 days. The report also claimed that the Indian players will also be barred from taking independent transport to commute during practice and matches. India captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar were informed regarding the same during the meet with BCCI officials in Mumbai last Saturday. Veteran cricket commentator Harsha Bhogla has shared his views on the same, and suggested that the BCCI should instead prohibit players from having personal PR agencies. “Reading of …

“By Letting R Ashwin Retire…”: Harsha Bhogle’s Blunt Message For Veterans Kohli, Rohit

“By Letting R Ashwin Retire…”: Harsha Bhogle’s Blunt Message For Veterans Kohli, Rohit

Ravichandran Ashwin‘s sudden mid-series retirement shocked the entire cricket world on Wednesday. As India and Australia toiled hard on Day 5 of the Brisbane Test, it was a hug exchanged between Ashwin and Virat Kohli that gave the story away. While Ashwin’s decision did come as a big surprise, a post by cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle has suggested that the off-spinner’s exit has set the bar for the other members of the team. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli, etc. are all on the wrong side of their thirties. Though they still have what it takes to deliver at the top level, one may argue that Ashwin did too. Over the years, Ashwin has seen many spinners being preferred ahead of him in all formats. But, never before was an off-spinner selected before him. With Washington Sundar‘s selection for the Perth Test, the Indian team management, headed by Gautam Gambhir in Rohit Sharma’s absence, the message was clear to Ashwin, who did what arguably any other player in his position …

On Hardik Pandya’s T20 World Cup Selection, Harsha Bhogle’s Damning Verdict

Hardik Pandya in Mumbai Indians training kit© BCCI/Sportzpics Hardik Pandya, the all-rounder, remains a pillar in the Indian team, especially in white-ball cricket. But, what if Hardik is only playing as a batter? Does he make the T20 World Cup 2024 squad in that case? Over the last three matches for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Hardik has only bowled a solitary over. Against Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals, the Mumbai Indians skipper chose not to bowl at all and went for 13 runs in one over that he bowled against RCB. (IPL 2024 Points Table) The situation does leave a question mark on the faces of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selectors. Hardik opened the bowling for MI in the first few games, bowling 3-4 overs but things have dramatically changed over the last 3 games. Many even wonder if there’s an injury that has prevented Hardik from snubbing bowling responsibilities. Former New Zealand cricketer-turned-commentator Simon Doull even said that he strongly feels that an injury …

“Both Shreyas Iyer And Ishan Kishan Are…”: Harsha Bhogle’s Strong Take On BCCI Central Contracts

Veteran cricket analyst and commentator Harsha Bhogle has shared his views on BCCI’s Annual Central Contracts, which were revealed on Wednesday. Star cricketers Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were the biggest absentees from the list, which have been finalised for the duration between October 1st, 2023 to September 30th, 2024. Kishan and Iyer were not considered for central contracts by the BCCI, with the board warning players to emphasise domestic cricket if they are fit and not travelling with the national team. Reacting to the latest central contract list, Bhogle wants players to identify which format they want to play. He said that if the players prioritise Test cricket, they should play Ranji Trophy for their respective state associations. Similarly, Bhogle wants white-ball enthusiasts to perform in several List-A and T20 tournaments. “My thoughts on the central contracts. This is a very strong message to players and puts Indian cricket at the forefront. If you have red ball ambition and want to play for India, you must go back and play domestic cricket if you …
