Jasir Bilal Wani, who is one of the key suspects in the Delhi Red Fort blast case, was produced before a Delhi court on Wednesday. Wani was then further produced by the agency, as the seven-day NIA custody granted by the Principal Sessions and District Judge, Anju Bajaj Chandna, on November 27 was set to end on Wednesday, reported PTI.  Jasir Bilal Wasim, a resident of Qazigund in Jammu and Kashmir`s Anantnag, and Wani, allegedly a close aide of suicide bomber Umar, were arrested for providing technical support in modifying drones and attempting to make rockets ahead of the deadly November 10 car blast that killed 13 people near Red Fort in Delhi. In view of investigating the Delhi Red Fort blasts, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday carried out searches across eight locations in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh. A special court at Delhi’s Patiala House on Tuesday remanded Jasir Bilal Wani, also known as Danish, to the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) custody for 10 days in connection with the November 10 blast in the national capital, news agency ANI reported. He was produced before the court amid heavy security arrangements earlier in the day. Following a closed-door hearing, Principal District and Sessions Judge (Special NIA Judge) Anju Bajaj Chandana granted the NIA Wani’s 10-day custodial remand, ANI reported. According to court sources, the NIA argued that Wani’s custodial interrogation was essential to uncover “the larger conspiracy” behind the November 10 Delhi Red Fort blast. The agency submitted that the blast was intended “to strike terror and panic in the minds of people in the country as well as to threaten public order”, ANI reported. While seeking his remand, NIA highlighted Wani’s role, stating that he was “an expert in drones” and had been contacted to design a precision rocket.
