The Centre is set to pursue an ambitious legislative agenda during the Eight Session of the 18th Lok Sabha, with plans to introduce five new bills while prioritising the passage of two pending legislations, including the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026. The Monsoon Session of Parliament is scheduled to run from July 20 to August 13. Focus on pending bills Among the government’s top priorities is the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, which was introduced earlier this year. All domestic and commercial borewells in Delhi will have to be fitted with water meters and users will be charged based on the amount of groundwater they extract under a new borewell policy being drafted by the Delhi government, officials familiar with the matter said on Friday. The proposed policy will also provide a mechanism to regularise thousands of unauthorised borewells currently operating across the Capital.
