2 min readNew DelhiMar 31, 2026 08:46 AM IST A 35-year-old man allegedly killed his wife in front of their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter by repeatedly hitting her on the head with an LPG cylinder in Southeast Delhi’s Pul Prahladpur, police said on Monday. They said that the incident happened on Sunday night and that the accused, after committing the crime, sat near his 32-year-old wife’s body along with their daughter. Hearing a commotion, police said, neighbours rushed to their flat but the door was locked from inside. They then informed the police. A team of officers reached the spot and managed to open the door. Inside the flat, officers discovered the victim’s blood-soaked body on the floor. The deceased was later identified as Poonam, police said, adding that she had sustained a severe fracture on the head. A man and his son were bludgeoned to death over an old rivalry in Imliya Sultanpur area of Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur district on Friday night, police said on Saturday. They said the victims were returning home after attending an SDM court hearing when they were attacked and killed by members of a rival family. The assailants allegedly chased the victims and killed them by crushing the head with bricks before fleeing the spot. A 41-year-old man was allegedly killed by his colleague following a dispute over switching off lights at their workplace in Bengaluru in the early hours of Saturday. The incident occurred at Saraswathinagar around 1.30 am, according to the police. The deceased was identified as Bheemesh Babu from Chitradurga, who managed a digital vault and photo-editing firm near MC Layout. A 22-year-old man was reportedly bludgeoned to death at Karamana in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Akhil, a native of Karamana, who was a fish vendor. According to the police, Akhil was kidnapped by a gang who came in an Innova car. Later, they beat Akhil with an iron rod and his head was smashed with a stone. The accused then left him on a compound nearby and fled from the spot. According to the police, the gang was led by an accused in another murder case in Karamana in 2019. It is suspected that the murder was a sequel to a dispute at a party at a bar a week ago.
