Labour welfare boards will be strengthened: Minister Bindu Krishna

Minister for Labour Bindu Krishna has said that the State government will strengthen various labour welfare boards through scientific studies to enhance the well-being of workers across the State. The Minister was speaking at the State-level inauguration of the distribution of free educational supplies for children of workers registered under the Kerala Motor Transport Workers’ Welfare Fund Board. At the event held at the Kadappakkada Sports Club in Kollam on Tuesday, Ms. Krishna also clarified that the government will actively seek the opinions of trade unions regarding the Justice Gopala Gowda Committee report. The Minister added that key demands of motor workers, including fixing the rent for cargo vehicles and ensuring fair wages for bus and lorry workers, are currently under the official consideration of the department. Regarding the rate hike demanded by autorickshaw workers, she noted that the final decision rests with the Transport department and confirmed that the memorandums received on this matter will be forwarded to the Transport Minister for further action. Taking cognisance of this, similar instructions must be issued to all paper setters as well,” it said. Mr. Adityanath directed that the habitual offenders must be immediately blacklisted. News18 has learnt that the Centre is preparing to use schools as a key platform to reach out to girls, who are eligible for the jab against cervical cancer. According to operational guidelines prepared for the rollout of the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination programme, the ministry of education will work with national and state school boards to raise awareness on the prevention of cervical cancer and help mobilise girls aged 14 to get the vaccine. The guidelines state that the ministry will issue directions to key school boards and education networks to support the campaign. The Class 10 and 12 examinations for the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education began on Thursday, ahead of which students underwent stringent security checks. According to Ajmer Field Supervisor Sumanlata, 127 Class 10 students are scheduled to sit for the English examination across seven schools. All examination instructions have been provided, and measures to prevent cheating have been implemented. Haridwar: The Ganga Sabha, the apex managing body of the sanctum sanctorum of Brahmakund Har-ki-Pauri and adjoining Ganga ghats, on Friday installed hoardings and flex banners prohibiting the entry of non-Hindus at Har-ki-Pauri in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar. Ganga Sabha secretary Ujjwal Pundit supervised the installation of the boards at multiple locations around Har-ki-Pauri on Friday. Haridwar municipal corporation town commissioner Nandan Kumar said the matter had come to their notice but no formal directives had been issued by the state government. “We will act as per government instructions when they are issued,” he said. Ganga Sabha president Nitin Gautam referred to the Haridwar municipal bylaws enacted in 1916 under the guidance of Pt Madan Mohan Malviya, which reportedly restricted the entry, residence and commercial activities of non-Hindus in the Har-ki-Pauri area. “Given the increasing influx of visitors and instances of non-Hindus entering this holy site, we are merely adhering to these provisions,” Gautam added.
