At least three persons are suspected to have hurled two country made bombs at a private liquor bar near Watrap in Koomapatti police station limits on Monday. Police said that the trio came to the private club and consumed liquor at noon. While they left, it is alleged that they hurled the bombs and escaped. A worker identified as Mayan, 34, was injured. Unidentified assailants hurled country bombs at a police escort vehicle near the Thirumandhurai toll plaza on the Chennai-Trichy National Highway on Saturday in an attempt to attack a history sheeter being transported in it, police said. The injured were immediately rushed to the Perambalur Government Hospital for treatment.
