Riteish Deshmukh’s biggest film, Raja Shivaji, is about to release in cinemas in a couple of days. The advance booking was opened recently, and the initial reports seem very promising. The movie sold nearly 20,000 tickets in no time at the Marathi box office, suggesting a record start.  Of this, around 10,000 tickets were sold at PVR Inox, followed by 4000 tickets at Miraj Cinemas and 3000 tickets at Cinepolis. Moviemax recorded around 2300 admissions so far. That’s a solid start to say the least. If the epic saga continues to maintain the same pace, it can easily record phenomenal sales before its premiere. All 31,450 seats for the Kedarnath helicopter shuttle service, scheduled between April 22 and June 15, were sold out within 90 minutes of the booking portal opening, officials said on Saturday, reported PTI.  According to officials, the booking process commenced at 6 pm on April 15, with the final ticket issued by 7:28 pm. To simplify the ticketing process and promote the “Aapli PMPML” mobile application, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has begun installing QR codes on bus seats. With the initiative, passengers no longer need to wait for conductors. They can simply scan the code, download the app, and book tickets instantly from their seats. QR code stickers have been placed behind each seat. The feature is expected to be particularly useful during peak hours. According to PMPML, 28,305 QR codes have been installed across 927 buses under the campaign. (HT FILE) “We are committed to making Pune’s travel experience more comfortable and digital. With QR codes installed in every bus, passengers can now book tickets conveniently from their seats. We urge more citizens to take advantage of this facility,” said Mahesh Awhad, chairman and managing director, PMPML. Bhooth Bangla is now playing in cinemas with its paid previews. The movie has recorded good advance sales at the box office. As of 9 PM (Thursday), the horror comedy drama sold around 72,000 tickets in the top two national chains, PVR Inox and Cinepolis, for the opening day and the paid previews. Of this, the advance for preview was around 40,000 and 32,000 for Friday. By midnight, the final advance for Friday is expected to be around 42,000.  This is a better advance than Akshay Kumar‘s previous release, Jolly LLB 3, but lower than Housefull 5. Based on current trends, Bhooth Bangla is expected to open in the double digits at the box office. Bhooth Bangla is witnessing decent to good advance sales at the box office. As of 11 PM (Wednesday), the Akshay Kumar starrer sold around 28,000 tickets in the top two national chains, PVR Inox and Cinepolis, for the opening day, including Thursday previews. It is looking to close the day by crossing the 30,000 admissions mark at the ticket window.  Directed by Priyadarshan, the horror-comedy is on track to sell around 60,000-70,000 tickets by the time the preview shows start tomorrow night. In comparison, the previous two Akshay Kumar films, Housefull 5 and Jolly LLB 3, sold 96,000 and 45,000 tickets across the two national chains on their opening day. Jolly LLB 3 had fractured pre-sales due to VPF conflict between exhibitors and distributors, which means Housefull 5 is a better comp. The advance booking was opened on Tuesday morning, two days ahead of its paid previews, and the initial reports are quite encouraging.  As of April 14 (Midnight), the horror comedy sold around 10,700 tickets in the top two national chains, PVR Inox and Cinepolis, for the paid previews and opening day combined. Of this, around 8700 were sold at PVR Inox, while Cinepolis sold nearly 2000 tickets. Talking about Friday alone, the movie recorded approx. 9000 tickets so far.  This is a good start.
