A four-year-old boy who fell into a newly dug borewell while playing near his home in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur district was rescued safely after an intense, nine-hour operation involving multiple rescue agencies and local volunteers, officials said. Rescue operations underway after a child fell into a borewell at the Chak Samana village near Bhikhowal, in Hoshiarpur (ANI ) The incident occurred on Friday night at Chak Samana village, located near Bhikhowal along the Hoshiarpur-Dasuya road. The boy, identified as Gurkaran Singh, was trapped inside the borewell at a depth of around 20 to 30 feet, officials said. Rescue teams pulled him out around 12.40 am and immediately shifted him to a hospital for medical examination and treatment. Upon being rescued, an NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) personnel carried him in his arms. Though the boy’s face was covered in soil, he appeared stable. The child’s family and villagers hugged the NDRF personnel and other rescuers profusely, thanking them for their efforts in the entire rescue operation. New Delhi: A three-year-old child who fell into a borewell in Rajasthan’s Kotputli 10 days ago, died shortly after she was rescued. Chetna, who was rescued after five failed attempts, was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Hospital authorities said during examination, they found her dead. . The hospital’s medical officer Dr Chetanya Rawat said: “She was brought in and immediately moved to the emergency room, where a special bed was set up for examination. After the doctors performed a procedure, they confirmed the child was no longer alive. The body was then transferred to the morgue. Efforts are on to rescue a man who has fallen into a 40-foot-deep borewell at a Delhi Jal Board treatment plant in Keshopur Mandi area late last night. Four engines of the Delhi Fire Services are at the spot while the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) leads the rescue operation. Delhi Water Minister Atishi has also reached the treatment plant to oversee the rescue efforts.
