As part of the operation, officials have initiated the process to register three FIRs, signalling a firm move to hold not just cyber offenders but also the support systems enabling them accountable. The Crime Branch has already booked three cases against people and groups accused of renting out or running bank accounts that act as channels for illegal transactions. Investigators say these accounts play a critical role in concealing fraudulent cash flows, making them key targets in the fight against cyber-enabled financial crime. Officials said that the investigation now extends to banks and financial institutions.
