BTS SUGAs solo album D-2 achieves THIS feat

Great news for ARMYs! BTS SUGA’s solo album D-2 has achieved a great feat. As per a popular music chart’s estimate, it has topped in 110 regions and has become the first hip-hop album to do so. The album was released on May 22, 2020. It followed SUGA’s debut mixtape AGUST D in 2016. The songs had elements of traditional Korean music with modern rap. D-2 had also peaked at No. 11 on a music chart, marking the highest-ever ranking for a Korean solo mixtape. As five out of seven members of the boyband are currently serving their mandatory military tenure, SUGA hasn’t announced any individual tracks yet. However, most members of BTS are releasing solo music, so fans are eagerly waiting for SUGA’s musical announcements. BTS’ Suga faces Rs 10 lakh fine in e-scooter drunk-driving case

BTS member Suga has been fined $11,500 (over Rs 10 lakh) by a Seoul court after the K-pop star was found riding an e-scooter while under the influence of alcohol. A judge issued the fine on Monday. Last month, Suga issued a statement saying, “I deeply apologize for the disappointment and hurt for my misbehaviour for my fans and everyone who loves me.” The police revoked his license after the incident. For the unversed, Suga was riding an e-scooter at night. He tripped while parking and failed a breath test that measured his blood alcohol level.   BTS announced a break from group activities as the idols are completing their mandatory military duties. While Jin has completed his 18-month service, Suga, RM, V, Jimin and Jungkook are yet to complete their term. The band will reunite in June 2025. Source link

BTS Suga achieves a great feat in music amid recent DUI case

BTS’ Suga is currently serving in the South Korean military and completing his mandatory military services. However, the rapper has recently achieved a great feat in music with his song The Last from his 2016 mixtape Agust D. This achievement comes amid Suga being involved in a DUI case involving an electric scooter. On August 23, 2023, he appeared for police questioning and faced legal scrutiny. The Yongsan Police announced plans to forward the case to the prosecutor by the following week. The current achievement involves the rapper reaching the no.1 spot on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart, eight years after the song’s release. The Last also surpassed 100 million streams on on another music platform. It made Suga the fifth leading South Korean artist with the most songs surpassing 100 million streams. Source link

BTS member Suga might not enlist as an active-duty soldier for South Korea’s mandatory military service. As per several reports, due to his left shoulder surgery in 2020 Suga will be assigned as a public service worker. Now, BTS agency BigHit Music has reacted to the reports.
