This was the fourth terrorist attack on migrant workers in Kashmir valley in the last two weeks New Delhi: Two migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh were shot at in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam today, the police said. Both were taken to a hospital, where the doctors said they were out of danger. This was the fourth attack on migrant workers in Kashmir valley in the last two weeks. The two injured in today’s attack have been identified as Usman Malik, 20, and Sofiyan, 25. The deadliest attack happened on October 20 when terrorists shot dead seven people including a local doctor and two workers from Bihar at a tunnel construction site in Ganderbal district. Of the two terrorists involved, one was identified as a local man from south Kashmir’s Kulgam, who joined a terrorist group in 2023, while the other is believed to have come from Pakistan. Jammu and Kashmir: In yet another terrorist attack targeting people from outside Jammu and Kashmir, two labourers were shot and injured by terrorists in Budgam district today (November 1). The infrastructure company is building a tunnel from Gagangir to Sonamarg tourist resort to make Srinagar-Sonamarg road an all-weather road. The tunnel will connect Sonamarg with the rest of the Valley around the year thereby generating employment for locals and helping the local economy. The attack was widely condemned. The two non-local labourers shot in J&K’s Budgam district on Friday. (News18) In an alarming development, two non-locals were shot at and injured in the Magam area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday, according to police sources. Both of them were shifted to a hospital in Srinagar and are now in stable condition. They were identified as Mohammad Usman and Sufiyan, both hailing from Uttar Pradesh. They were working on the construction of a water tank in the Manzhama area of Magam during the shooting. Usman suffered injuries in his right wrist while Sufiyan was hurt in his right leg. This came after three terrorists fired at an army ambulance that was part of a convoy moving near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoor district. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister (CM) Omar Abdullah has resigned from the Budgam Assembly seat but will retain the Ganderbal constituency, a stronghold of the National Conference (NC), announced Pro-tem Speaker Mubarak Gul in the House on Monday.  Ajaz Jan, the National Conference Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Poonch, also confirmed this decision, reported news agency ANI.  Abdullah had secured victories in both the Budgam and Ganderbal seats during the recent Jammu-Kashmir Assembly polls, winning Budgam by a margin of 18,485 votes against the Peoples Democratic Party`s (PDP) Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi. In Ganderbal, he defeated PDP`s Bashir Ahmed Mir by 10,574 votes, reported ANI.  Abdullah previously served as the MLA for Ganderbal from 2009 to 2014 during his first term as CM. The constituency has also been represented by his father, Farooq, and his grandfather, Sheikh, the founder of the National Conference. Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Monday vacated the Budgam assembly seat, one of the two seats from where he was elected. He has retained the Ganderbal constituency, PTI reported. Omar Abdullah, 54, won the Budgam seat in the recently concluded Jammu and Kashmir elections. The protests were held in Magam market area and Budgam town of the central Kashmir district on the fourth day of mourning of Nasrallah. Some market places were shut following the protests. “The Hezbollah leader was killed on Saturday (September 28, 2024) and he was laid to rest a day later. The people, including men, women and children, assembled on the main roads — carrying black flags — and held protests against the killing,” the officials said. “The protestors were chanting anti-Israel and anti-U.S. slogans, denouncing Nasrallah’s killingin Israeli airstrikes on Saturday,” they said. “The protests were by and large peaceful even as a large posse of police personnel maintained vigil to ensure that the demonstrations did not turn violent,” the officials said. “Meanwhile, the shops in Magam market and Budgam town were shut. Image Source : INDIA TV Jammu and Kashmir: Three BSF soldiers feared dead, 26 injured in bus accident, rescue operations underway A bus carrying Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on election duty met with a tragic accident in the Brell Waterhail area of Budgam district, Jammu and Kashmir. The vehicle slipped off a hilly road and fell into a gorge, resulting in the deaths of three BSF personnel and injuries to 32 others. Among the injured, six individuals sustained serious injuries. Additionally, the civilian driver of the bus also suffered injuries in the incident. The death toll may rise as rescue operations continue, and the injured have been admitted to Khan Sahib and Budgam hospitals. The bus was transporting soldiers from Pulwama to Budgam for the second phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections in 2024 when the incident occurred.
