THE Election Commission of India on Saturday announced a seven-phase elections in the country and a five-phase election for Maharashtra. Maharashtra, which has 48 Lok Sabha constituencies, will vote over five days in a five-phase election that will be held between April 19 and May 20. The polling in Maharashtra will be held on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13 and May 20. Voting in Pune city, Maval and Shirur Lok Sabha seats, which are in Pune district, will be held in the fourth phase on May 13. The nomination filing process will commence from April 18. Besides Pune city, Maval and Shirur constituencies, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Raver, Jalna, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (in 2019 polls it was known as Aurangabad), Ahmednagar, Shirdi and Beed will also vote in the fourth phase on May 13.
