‘History must not be buried through censorship’: Punjab leaders condemn Satluj’s ZEE5 removal

Political parties and Sikh bodies in Punjab on Monday slammed the removal of Diljit Dosanjh’s film “Satluj” from an OTT platform, saying the movie compels India to confront one of the state’s “darkest chapters” and that history must be confronted with honesty, not buried through censorship. Satluj features actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh as Jaswant Singh Khalra, who investigated the alleged secret cremation of thousands of unidentified bodies during Punjab’s militancy years. (Satluj/Zee5) Criticising the removal of the film from ZEE5 platform, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal said, “This is not mere censorship, it is an assault on our collective memory, truth, and freedom of expression”. The film, originally titled “Punjab 95” and based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, was released in India on streaming service ZEE5 on Friday last. However, it became unavailable on the platform just two days later. ALSO READ | Satluj row explained: Who was Jaswant Singh Khalra and why does his life story make Diljit Dosanjh film controversial? Minions & Monsters movie review: Fun quotient gets buried in chaotic prequel | Movie-review News

3 min readJul 3, 2026 04:11 PM IST Minions & Monsters movie review: I had so much fun at the previous edition (The Rise Of Gru, 2022) of the banana-loving yellow blobs that I was all set for another fun ride. But this time around, the fun quotient gets buried under familiar stretches in which the minions squeak and squawk in tongues– French and Spanish accents– commingling with the cartoony voices of a starry star cast. And the entertaining bits and bobs, such as there are, come in only after a long meander. Before we go any further, we have to tell you that this is a prequel to outlast all prequels, in which the minions go back to the beginning of the movies, to a time when there was only sight, no sound, with the orchestra playing in the pit, with smartly wrought glimpses of the early era stars, a Chaplin here, a Monroe there. Anyone familiar with the franchise will know that the thing with the minions is that they are always looking …

According to the fire department, the rescue unfolded after a search-and-rescue team completed operations at a collapsed house and prepared to leave. Just as firefighters were about to depart, they heard a faint bark coming from beneath the rubble. The team immediately returned and began carefully removing heavy concrete slabs, twisted metal, and debris by hand to avoid harming the trapped animal. In a widely shared video, firefighters lowered a bottle of water through a narrow opening to hydrate the frightened dog before eventually pulling it safely from the wreckage. Disclosure Day: This Steven Spielberg alien mystery is buried beneath a long chase and some poignant questions

When it’s Steven Spielberg, he can sell us anything. A killer shark in Jaws. Dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. And, of course, aliens! From ET to Disclosure Day, the man can make us believe in almost anything. Which is why, even as an ardent admirer of the filmmaker, I came away slightly underwhelmed by his latest directorial. A still from Disclosure Day For reasons she cannot explain, meteorologist Margaret Fairchild (Emily Blunt) begins experiencing strange abilities after a cardinal visits her home. She can suddenly read people’s minds and even alter what they see when they look into her eyes. Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, Daniel Kellner (Josh O’Connor) is on the run after stealing a series of tapes containing evidence of what really happened to the extraterrestrial beings who landed on Earth. Pursuing them both is Noah Scanlon (Colin Firth), the powerful head of Wardex. Why these two seemingly unrelated individuals are inexorably drawn towards each other forms the crux of the film. The film begins at a brisk pace and immediately …
