A dispute over bursting firecrackers escalated into a violent clash between two families at 4th Mile, Chengala, Kasaragod, Kerala, later on Sunday night, leaving four people injured. The Vidyanagar police have arrested three individuals in connection with the incident, which involved the use of deadly weapons. According to the police, the altercation broke out after the accused allegedly burst firecrackers in retaliation to being questioned by the injured party. The FIR states that the attackers used knives and swords, hacking and stabbing members of the opposing family. The arrested have been identified as Moideen (65), Azharuddin (29) and Mithilaj (24). The police have also registered a case against four others – Abdul Khader, alias, Cheku, Mujju, Nafees and another suspect – under Sections 189 (2), 191(2), 191(3), 126(2), 118(1) and 109 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
