BJP releases 2nd list of 111 candidates for West Bengal polls, fields Rekha Patra from Hingalganj| India News

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday released its second list of 111 candidates for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections, intensifying the contest with the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) across all 294 seats in the state. BJP’s Rekha Patra is contesting from Hingalganj (SC), Roopa Ganguly is contesting from Sonarpur Dakshin. (File photos) According to the list, Rekha Patra has been fielded from Hingalganj (SC), Kalyan Chakraborty from Khardaha, and Roopa Ganguly from Sonarpur Dakshin. The party has also nominated Nisith Pramanik from Mathabhanga, Shankar Adhikari from Chopra, Koustav Bagchi from Barrackpur, and Arup Choudhury from Kamarhati. Among other key names, Priyanka Tibrewal will contest from Entally, while Tapas Roy has been fielded from Maniktala. Focus on high-profile contests The second list builds on the BJP’s earlier announcement of 144 candidates. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday released its list of 88 candidates, including former Congress leaders Bhupen Kumar Borah and Pradyut Bordoloi, for next month’s Assam assembly election, four days ahead of the last date of nominations on March 23. Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will contest from Jalukbari. (X) The party is contesting 89 of the 126 seats, leaving 37 to its allies Asom Gana Parishad (26) and Bodoland Peoples Front (11). “Candidate for Sissiborgaon has not been decided yet. Image Source : FILE MNS chief Raj Thackeray Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) announced on Monday (October 28) a seventh list of 10 candidates for Maharashtra assembly elections. The MNS has nominated Gajanan Nivriti Vairagade from Washim, Suhas Anant Dashrate from Aurangabad Central and Umesh Narayan Jagtap from Pundar With this, the party has so far released a total of 128 candidates for the Maharashtra assembly elections. The ruling BJP late Wednesday released its third and final list of candidates for the Haryana polls as it denied ticket to its senior leader Ram Bilas Sharma from Mahendragarh. BJP has fielded Kanwar Singh Yadav from Mahendragarh. (Pic used for representation) According to the party list, BJP has fielded Kanwar Singh Yadav from Mahendragarh, even as Sharma, sensing that the party may deny him a ticket, filed his nomination papers from the constituency earlier in the day. State Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will contest from the Ladwa constituency, while senior party leader Anil Vij from the Ambala Cantt seat. The BJP changed the constituency of the chief minister Saini as he currently represents the Karnal Assembly seat, which he won in a bypoll in June this year.  The former Haryana Home Minister Vij retained a ticket from his seat – the Ambala Cantonment, a seat he registered victory three successive times since 2009.    The prominent names the list carries are – Kanwar Pal Gurjar from Jagadhri, Sunita Duggal from Ratia (SC), Captain Abhimanyu from Narnaund, Bhavya Bishnoi from Adampur, Shruti Choudhry from Tosham and Om Prakash Dhankar from Badli.
