Representative image A man was arrested at Mathura Cantt railway station for allegedly impersonating an army personnel under the Agniveer scheme and stealing belongings from sleeping passengers on trains and platforms, officials stated on Monday. The accused, identified as Rajan Gupta from Jorawar village in Amethi district, had been living on rent near Kheria Mor for the past six months, pretending to be a soldier stationed at the Red Fort in Agra, according to a statement from the Superintendent of Government Railway Police (GRP). He was apprehended near platform number 6, close to the parcel office, by a team led by sub-inspectors Mohit Kumar and Trimohan Singh. The police confiscated two fake Agniveer Indian Army identity cards, four PAN cards, two Aadhaar cards, a driving licence, eleven debit and credit cards, an army-pattern rucksack, combat dress, belt, and boots bearing Indian Army insignia …

A massive fire broke out at a parking lot in Uttar Pradesh`s Varanasi Cantt Railway Station on Friday night, police said, ANI reported. As per ANI, the Varanasi police said that several vehicles were damaged in the fire. Visuals showed that over 50 bikes were destroyed in the blaze, The blaze was doused later in the day, the officials said. Ravi Ranjan Kumar, an assistant loco pilot at the station said that his vehicle was also damaged in the fire. “I parked my vehicle here two days ago as I went for my duty, now as I came back I saw that my vehicle was burnt to a crisp. I had an activa and I used to always park my vehicle here. This is made for us only, that government employees can put their vehicles here,” he said while speaking to ANI. “This was my main mode of daily transportation and now I cannot recognise my vehicle due to the fire,” he added.
