The Maharashtra transport department will prepare a detailed report over closing of 24 checkposts in the state following instructions from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. On Sunday, during the ground-breaking ceremony of Transport Bhavan, Fadnavis had said that closing these checkpoints will be crucial for the growth of trade and the smooth movement of goods. He also directed that a proposal regarding this be submitted by April 15. Confirming the development, Transport Commissioner Vivek Bhimanwar said, “There are certain legal and financial matters that need to be addressed, but we are working through them. Once resolved, we will submit the report.
