The Border Security Force (BSF) troops has recovered a small drone from Kamirpura village, a border area of Amritsar on Saturday, said a release from BSF. After receiving a specific intelligence, BSF troops launched a search operation in the suspected area and at about 5.50 pm, they recovered a China-made DJI MAVIC 3 Classic drone from a farming field adjacent to Kamirpura village in Amritsar. The press release said, “On Nov 2, in the evening hours, acting on information of BSF intelligence wing about presence of a drone in the border area of Amritsar district, BSF troops launched a search operation in the suspected area. The recovered drone was identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic, according to an official release from BSF Punjab Frontier (PRO). Earlier, in another instance, BSF troops recovered a drone and a packet of suspected heroin in two separate locations in the border area of Amritsar district. Acting on intelligence inputs, alert BSF troops foiled yet another narco-smuggling attempt across the border. The BSF stated in the press release, “On October 31, based on information from the BSF intelligence wing, a broken drone was recovered by BSF troops at approximately 09:15 am from a field near Dhanoe Khurd village in Amritsar district.” Additionally, BSF troops recovered a packet of suspected heroin, weighing approximately 540 grams, at about 10:20 am from a field near Dhanoe Kalan village in Amritsar district. The drone that has been recovered is identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic. The official release mentions that the vigilant BSF troops while carrying out a routine search operation on April 29, 2024, at about 8.00 am, observed a small drone along with a packet in a farming field in the border area of district Ferozepur. “The troops immediately seized the drone and the packet of suspected narcotics packet, which was wrapped in white packing material and black adhesive tape (gross weight- 510 gms). (Representational) Amritsar: The Border Security Force (BSF) along with the Punjab Police recovered two drones from different locations in the border area of Amritsar on Sunday, officials said. “On 21st April 2024, based on information by BSF intelligence set up about the presence of drones in two different locations of the border area of Amritsar district, joint search operations by BSF troops with Punjab Police were conducted in the suspected areas,” Border Security Force stated. The recovered drones were identified as China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic. “The search operations resulted in retrieval of 02 drones, one each at about 12:15 pm and 02:00 pm. These recoveries took place in farming fields adjacent to village Hardo Rattan and village Daoke respectively, both in Amritsar District,” it added.
