Two years, 300 roles: Mukesh Chhabra breaks down Aditya Dhar’s ‘peak detailing’ in choosing Dhurandhar cast | Exclusive

It is not often that a conversation about a Bollywood film centres on its casting, particularly for the supporting cast and even for characters who appear on screen for a scene or two. But with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, much like its predecessor, the focus has all been on director Aditya Dhar’s ‘peak detailing’. It began as appreciation, and then turned into a joke, but the praise for casting for characters based on real people in the film has been quite real. Choosing India During Partition of 1947

Choosing India During Partition of 1947

4 min readMar 21, 2026 06:43 PM IST Written by Brig Advitya Madan When India was partitioned in 1947, not only land and assets but also institutions had to be divided. The armed forces were no exception. Several battalions of regiments such as the Punjab Regiment were allotted to the newly created Pakistan Army, while others remained with India. As a young officer commissioned into the Punjab Regiment, I first became aware of this reality during training courses. In mock war exercises, the opposing order of battle would sometimes include battalions such as 4 Punjab or 10 Punjab, now part of the Pakistan Army. It often prompted a curious thought: how must it have felt for soldiers who suddenly found themselves serving under a different flag at the stroke of midnight in August 1947? Equally compelling are the stories of officers who had to make a personal choice about where their loyalties would lie. One such remarkable story is that of Captain Syed Mahdi Hasnain. In August 1947, Captain Hasnain was serving as the Adjutant …

Pratibha Rannta reveals reason behind choosing Accused after Laapataa Ladies

The film Laapataa Ladies, directed by Kiran Rao, gave one of the most promising young actors, Pratibha Rannta, a role of a lifetime and served as the stepping stone to her cinematic career. For her, however, finding a project that could match the impact of Laapataa Ladies wasn’t easy. After appearing in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Pratibha explores another gripping genre with Accused, a Netflix original directed by Anubhuti Kashyap. Pratibha Rannta on life after Laapataa Ladies “There was so much love coming in. My debut raised so many standards. why millennials are choosing calm over hustle

why millennials are choosing calm over hustle

Thirty-five-year-old Aastha Katyal no longer wakes up with anxiety about traffic snarls or arduous production meetings. Instead, her mornings begin with a quiet stroll, observing birds and butterflies, the curve of a wing or the texture of a leaf, forms that find their way into the clay she shapes at her pottery wheel. For over a decade, Katyal lived in Mumbai, working as a creative producer for leading television channels and web series. Until 2024, her life followed a punishing rhythm: wake up, rush to work, rush through the day, return late, watch television, fall asleep. “The last few years were particularly difficult,” she says, “I wasn’t at peace in my marriage. No matter how much I tried, something felt amiss.” At the same time, an old cyst (she was diagnosed with neurocysticercosis in 2015) triggered seizures in 2020-21. It was her mother who suggested pottery. Katyal enrolled in a neighbourhood class. “It was the first time I felt what I created was mine, only mine.” Soon she bought her own wheel. By 2023, her …

This isn’t about cooking or cleaning: Ridhi Dogra on choosing The 50 after saying no to Bigg Boss

This isn’t about cooking or cleaning: Ridhi Dogra on choosing The 50 after saying no to Bigg Boss

Actor Ridhi Dogra, who is all set to participate in an upcoming captive reality show, says the experience is one she is approaching with both curiosity and confidence. Reflecting on her decision, the actor believes the evolving media landscape has made rigid boundaries between formats irrelevant. “Today, everything is being consumed on the same screen,” Dogra says. “You’re watching a film, then a web show, then a YouTube video, then an Instagram reel, all on the same device. To dismiss the relevance of any medium now would be extremely naïve. Just because I’ve done certain things in the past doesn’t mean I can’t try something new.” Ridhi Dogra For Ridhi, the show also represents a chance to shift long-held perceptions. “I felt this was an opportunity to let people see who I really am, beyond the impressions that have been formed about me through my work,” she says, adding: “I know I’m often seen as strong, opinionated and very clear about my views, and I wanted to allow space for people to see more of …
