Actor Jennifer Garner has recalled an intense fight scene from an earlier project in which she bit off a “chunk” of a fellow actor’s ear while filming. Speaking during a panel for The Last Thing He Told Me, Jennifer said she reunited on set with actor and stuntman Sala Baker nearly two decades after the incident, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A whole population of ‘minimoons’ – tiny natural satellites – may be quietly circling near Earth, scientists now believe, after discovering a second Moon-origin rock drifting close to our planet. The newly observed object, named 2024 PT5, was spotted near Earth last August and is thought to be a lunar fragment, possibly blasted off the Moon during a massive impact long ago. This makes it only the second known piece of the Moon found orbiting in near-Earth space. “If there were only one object, that would be interesting but an outlier,” said Teddy Kareta, a planetary scientist at Lowell Observatory in Arizona. “If there’s two, we’re pretty confident that’s a population.” The findings were published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters in January and presented in March at the 56th Lunar and Planetary Sciences Conference in Texas. 2024 PT5 stood out when it was first observed by astronomers in South Africa, thanks to its unusually slow movement, just 2 metres per second relative to Earth. Announcing a Rs 9,957-crore budget for this fiscal, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) allocated a significant chunk — almost 60% of funds or Rs 6,063 crore — to land acquisition, said officials. Other important projects for which funds have been earmarked include the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar (Rs 702 crore) and the Rapid Rail for better multi-modal connectivity (Rs 300 crore). Development and construction has been allocated Rs 1,948 crore, added officials. The budget for the financial year 2024-25 was approved at the Authority’s 80th board meeting Tuesday. YEIDA said it has planned to acquire around 3,700 hectares of land in two years to create a land bank for different investors, FDI, and other schemes. “To increase the land bank, the authority had prepared a plan of Rs 11,750 crore to acquire land in sectors 10, 7, 5, 6, 8, 9, 4A, 28, 29, 32 etc. Of this, the authority requested the government to give 50% of the amount — Rs 5,875 — as an interest-free loan.
