Abbas-Mustan’s 2001 romantic comedy Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, starring Salman Khan, Preity Zinta, and Rani Mukerji, is known for one of Bollywood’s earliest portrayals of surrogacy, even though the treatment was rather misleading. However, it’s known in the film lore for another completely different reason — a connection to the Mumbai underworld — even though financier Bharat Shah was initially unaware of it. “At a point of time, he (Bharat Shah) got a guy who told him he has Salman Khan’s dates. I had done a lot of work with Hrishida before Chupke Chupke,  but of a very serious nature, like  Anupama and Satyakam, which were both with  Dharamji (Dharmendra). These are not easy-viewing cinema. In one (Anupama) I hardly spoke. So when Hrishida offered  to a  do fun film we all jumped at it.” On paper, Chupke  Chupke  sounded really bonkers. “With comedy one  never knows how it lands. Chori Chori Chupke Chupke Producer Nazim Hassan Rizvi Passes Away In Mumbai In His Early 70s – Deets Inside Controversial Bollywood producer Nazim Hassan Rizvi – who produced the hit “Chori Chori, Chupke Chupke” (2001) – passed away at a private hospital in Mumbai, industry sources said here on Tuesday. Admitted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital (KDAH), Andheri, for certain undisclosed ailments, Rizvi breathed his last while under treatment late on Monday, a close aide said.
