Owaisi campaigns for party candidates in Nalgonda ahead of civic polls

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday campaigned for his party candidates in Nalgonda ahead of the Telangana civic polls. Mr. Owaisi, who represents Hyderabad in the Lok Sabha, began canvassing from the Basheer Bagh Colony, where he interacted with members of the public, party workers and supporters. After crisscrossing through neighbourhoods, the padyatra ended in Rahmat Nagar. The Hyderabad parliamentarian also condoled the family of a party worker who had passed away. This is the second day of the election campaign. On Saturday, Mr. Owaisi campaigned for 15 candidates that his party fielded for the Tandur Municipality elections. Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Owaisi had stated that the party cadre was enthused by the AIMIM’s performance in the Maharashtra civic polls, where workers and legislators had campaigned extensively on the ground.
