CJP warns of nationwide protests, accuses Centre of using SC order to avoid FIR withdrawal assurances

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has warned that it will resume nationwide protests if the Centre does not honour its alleged assurances to withdraw FIRs filed against peaceful protesters involved in demonstrations over examination paper leaks. The warning comes after the Supreme Court, while hearing petitions related to the alleged use of excessive force against students protesting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar and other locations, directed that no coercive action be taken against peaceful protesters. The court also ordered the release of detained protesters with no prior criminal record, while allowing investigations into existing FIRs to continue. From ‘delulu’ to ‘FOMO’: After CJP protests on the streets, Gen-Z slang takes over Parliament | India News

From ‘delulu’ to ‘FOMO’: After CJP protests on the streets, Gen-Z slang takes over Parliament | India News

3 min readJul 29, 2026 09:32 AM IST The ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament is a little different this week. One got to hear from politicians a lingo which you would usually expect on Instagram and not in the Lok Sabha. Words like “Delulu,” “FOMO,” and “clocked it” flowed freely. But how did the Parliament’s lingo change from “kitne tejasvi log hain humare paas [we have such bright people]” to “FOMO hone ke baad delulu hua [after FOMO, they were delulu]”? The change in lingo is not random; it’s a direct response to weeks of Gen-Z-led protests that rattled the government and eventually led to the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as the Education  Minister. Why politicians are suddenly fluent in Gen-Z The trigger was the nationwide protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a youth movement that began as a satirical social media page in May 2026. The anger over the NEET paper leak and other irregularities in government exams was visible among the youth. This drew thousands, including millenials, to Delhi’s Jantar Mantar …

‘Not acceptable’: CJP claims Supreme Court order on student FIRs contradicts govt promises

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Tuesday said the Supreme Court’s interim order allowed authorities to continue investigating FIRs registered during the nationwide student protests. The order was contrary to the assurances given by the Centre during negotiations that ended the protests at Jantar Mantar, the CJP said. CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das said that the government must first honour the assurances it gave to protesters. (ANI) Chief spokesperson Saurav Das said that the party’s understanding with the government was that FIRs against protesters would be withdrawn. “The Supreme Court has now said that FIRs that were already registered will not be withdrawn. This is not what was discussed in our negotiations with the government,” Das said in an interview. “Our understanding with the government was different, and we expect it to fulfil the assurances it gave us. The conditions being imposed by the Supreme Court are not acceptable to us,” he added. SC must not be ‘politicised’ On X, Saurav Das said the Supreme Court should not be “politicised” for the government’s gains and …

Kangana Ranaut vs Saurav Das: BJP MP blasts CJP spokesperson over age, work, Gen Z protests | Bollywood News

Kangana Ranaut has hit back at Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson Saurav Das after he criticised her remarks on Gen Z protesters and urged politicians to “uphold the dignity of their position.” The exchange began after the actor-politician shared a series of Instagram Stories in which she called some young women participating in the CJP-led student protests “Generation Gutter”, accused protesters of glorifying “drugs, drinks and endless body counts”, and earlier described videos from the demonstrations as “puke-inducing.” Responding to Kangana Ranaut’s recent remarks about the CJP protests, Saurav Das dismissed the BJP MP’s criticism, claiming she wasn’t taken seriously even within her own party. “Kangana Ranaut is not taken seriously by her own party. So why should we take her seriously? I don’t think anyone in Gen Z, or in Gen Alpha, or any younger generation takes her seriously. Or listens to her.” Saurav then referred to an earlier video in which Kangana had spoken about adjusting to life as a first-time MP, saying it contradicted her criticism of the younger generation. He said, …

Salman Khan’s ‘Sonam, it’s done bro’ post ‘cringe’, Bollywood irrelevant: Shobhaa De | Bollywood News

Author and columnist Shobhaa De has criticised Bollywood’s response to the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests, arguing that the industry’s biggest stars appeared out of touch with Gen Z and misread the mood of a youth-led movement that has dominated national discourse for weeks. In her latest column for ThePrint, De took aim at Salman Khan’s social media post to activist Sonam Wangchuk, described Bollywood’s response as “uncool” and “irrelevant”, and criticised actors including Kangana Ranaut, Hema Malini and Anupam Kher for their comments on the protests. Shobhaa De calls Salman Khan’s Sonam Wangchuk post ‘cringe’ Salman Khan was among the first Bollywood stars to react to the CJP-led protests over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak. After backing the students’ demand for accountability and education reforms, the actor made another appeal the following day, urging Sonam Wangchuk to end his hunger strike after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured action against those responsible for the alleged leak. Hours before Wangchuk eventually ended his fast, Salman posted on social media, “Sonam, it’s done bro. Don’t extend this. …
