Rishabh Pant Or KL Rahul? Who’ll Be In India XI For Champions Trophy – Report Reveals ‘Intriguing Clues’

Rishabh Pant Or KL Rahul? Who’ll Be In India XI For Champions Trophy – Report Reveals ‘Intriguing Clues’

Rishabh Pant‘s game-changing audacity or KL Rahul‘s quiet dependability? It is a tough call that head coach Gautam Gambhir and skipper Rohit Sharma will have to take when they zero-in on the batter-keeper’s slot for the Champions Trophy during the ODI series against England starting Thursday. The first training session on Tuesday provided intriguing clues as to which of the two might find a place in the playing eleven. Both players spent significant time honing their skills, but it was Rahul who had the more extensive session in which he not only batted but also underwent wicket-keeping drills. Meanwhile Pant focused solely on his batting, treating the spinners with disdain as he hit one-handed sixes, cheeky ramps, and his trademark falling slog and reverse sweeps. Rahul looked more measured, preferring to pierce the gaps rather than display brute power. More importantly, he also kept wickets, reinforcing his credentials as India’s potential first-choice wicketkeeper. With Rohit and Gill likely to open, followed by Kohli and Shreyas Iyer and Hardik Pandya No. 6, the wicketkeeper-batter …

New Cosmic Surveys Reveal Unexpected Clues About Universe’s Evolution

New Cosmic Surveys Reveal Unexpected Clues About Universe’s Evolution

New research examining data from two major cosmic surveys indicates that the universe may have evolved in a way that is more complex than previously thought. A team led by Joshua Kim and Mathew Madhavacheril at the University of Pennsylvania, in collaboration with researchers from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, analysed data from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) and the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI). Their findings hint at a small discrepancy in the expected distribution of cosmic structures, particularly in the last four billion years. Cosmic Observations and Findings According to the study published in the Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics and on the preprint server arXiv, researchers combined ACT’s cosmic microwave background (CMB) lensing data with DESI’s luminous red galaxy (LRG) distribution. ACT’s observations provide insight into the early universe, measuring faint light from around 380,000 years after the Big Bang, while DESI maps the three-dimensional distribution of millions of galaxies to understand cosmic structure formation in more recent epochs. By overlaying these datasets, researchers created a comprehensive view of cosmic evolution. The …

Scientists Discover Hidden Clues to the Dark Universe in 3D Galaxy Maps

Scientists Discover Hidden Clues to the Dark Universe in 3D Galaxy Maps

New insights into the “dark universe,” which includes both dark matter and dark energy, have emerged from a new method of studying 3D maps of galaxies. Scientists have used sophisticated computer algorithms to analyse the relative positions of galaxies in a 3D framework, unveiling previously hidden information that could challenge or support the standard model of cosmology. This method, unlike older techniques, preserves the three-dimensional integrity of the data, offering a deeper understanding of the universe’s structure. New Approach to Galactic Mapping According to the study led by astronomer Minh Nguyen of the University of Tokyo, the latest approach utilises advanced field-level inference (FLI) techniques combined with algorithms to model galaxy growth and dark matter halos. This technique builds upon the traditional method of galaxy surveys, which in the past relied on two-dimensional measurements. By adding a third dimension through redshift data, scientists have been able to map galaxies more accurately and analyse their distribution in space. In traditional methods, data is often compressed into “n-point correlation functions,” which, while efficient, have been shown to …

Did Earth Create the Moon? Research Uncovers Clues About Lunar Formation

Did Earth Create the Moon? Research Uncovers Clues About Lunar Formation

A recent investigation into the moon’s formation and Earth’s water origin has provided compelling insights. Researchers from the University of Göttingen and the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research (MPS) conducted analyses on lunar and terrestrial samples, revealing that the moon was likely formed predominantly from Earth’s mantle material. This challenges the long-held theory that the protoplanet Theia contributed significantly to the moon’s composition. The findings also shed light on Earth’s early water acquisition, suggesting a re-evaluation of existing assumptions. New Findings on Moon’s Formation According to the study published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, oxygen isotopes from 14 lunar samples and 191 terrestrial measurements were examined using laser fluorination. The study observed a close isotopic resemblance between oxygen-17 isotopes from both the moon and Earth. This finding contradicts prior theories attributing the moon’s composition to a major contribution from Theia, the protoplanet believed to have collided with Earth billions of years ago. Professor Andreas Pack, Managing Director of the Geoscience Centre at the University of Göttingen, explained to phys.org that …

Police Have Many Clues, Will Soon Zero In On Culprit, Says Fadnavis On Saif Ali Khan Attack Case

Police Have Many Clues, Will Soon Zero In On Culprit, Says Fadnavis On Saif Ali Khan Attack Case

Last Updated:January 18, 2025, 07:42 IST In the Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Case, the Mumbai Police have found two CCTV footages in which the suspect can be clearly seen and have been trying to trace his movement constantly Devendra Fadnavis says that Mumbai Police is likely to zero in on the Saif Ali Khan attacker very soon. (PTI) Reacting to the Saif Ali Khan stabbing case, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said that several clues related to the attacker had been collected by the Mumbai Police and they will arrest the culprit very soon, PTI reported. The chief minister made the remarks at a time when the police found two clear images of the attacker in two different CCTV footage. While addressing reporters in Nagpur, Fadnavis said, “Police investigation is going on….they have got many clues and I feel the police will very soon zero in (on the culprit).” Fadnavis, who has a home portfolio in the state, had earlier said that Mumbai is one of the country’s safest cities and that it …

JWST Discovers Jupiter-Mass Binary Objects in Orion Nebula, Offering New Clues

JWST Discovers Jupiter-Mass Binary Objects in Orion Nebula, Offering New Clues

Dozens of massive planet-like objects, observed by the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) in the Orion Nebula, are believed to hold clues about stellar formation and disruption. These objects, referred to as Jupiter-mass binary objects (JuMBOs), comprise pairs of rogue gas giants, with masses between 0.7 and 30 times that of Jupiter, orbiting each other at significant distances of 25 to 400 astronomical units (AU). Findings from the Orion Nebula The study exploring their origin has been detailed in The Astrophysical Journal on November 5. The objects are located in the trapezoid region of the Orion Nebula, a known stellar nursery. According to reports, JuMBOs are thought to have formed under unique conditions not observed elsewhere. Current theories consider various possibilities, such as gravitational dynamics ejecting them from their home systems or a scenario where they formed near stars before being forced into independent orbits. However, the recent study proposes that they may represent failed stars, created when embryonic stars lost mass due to intense radiation. Insights from Researchers Richard Parker, a senior lecturer in astrophysics …

Advanced 3D Fossil Scans Provide Clues to the Origins of Bipedalism in Human Evolution

Advanced 3D Fossil Scans Provide Clues to the Origins of Bipedalism in Human Evolution

A study published in the American Journal of Primatology has provided new insights into the emergence of bipedalism in human ancestors. Using advanced 3D scanning techniques, researchers analysed fossil bones to investigate how early hominins moved, focusing on the transition from tree-dwelling locomotion to upright walking. The research was led by Professor Josep M. Potau from the Human Anatomy and Embryology Unit at the University of Barcelona and Neus Ciurana of Gimbernat University School. Collaborators included a team from the University of Valladolid. Innovative 3D Analysis Techniques The study examined muscle insertion sites in the ulna bone, a key part of the elbow joint, to determine locomotion types among extinct and living primates. The findings suggested that species like Australopithecus and Paranthropus combined upright walking with arboreal movements, akin to modern bonobos (Pan paniscus). The methodology involved creating detailed 3D models of the ulna from modern primates, humans and fossilised hominins, as per sources. Researchers measured the insertion zones of two crucial muscles: the brachialis, which aids in elbow flexion, and the triceps brachii, responsible for …

Travis Kelce Wonders ‘What Happens When You Have Kids?’ — Is He Dropping Clues About Wanting Babies With Taylor Swift?

Travis Kelce seems to be waiting for Taylor Swift’s green light to proceed with fatherhood plans. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end joked about having kids during a lighthearted exchange with celebrity guest Ryan Fitzpatrick on Tuesday, November 19, while hosting Prime Video’s Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? The duo discussed how fatherhood might make men wiser. “Is that what happens when you have kids? You get smarter?” the NFL star, 35, probed with a smirk. “Man, that’s all I had to do to become brilliant?” “Just have a baby,” Fitzpatrick replied, prompting cheers from the audience. The two-time Super Bowl champion, who has been dating Swift for over a year, previously shared thoughts about his future children on his New Heights podcast with brother Jason Kelce. In an April episode, Travis joked about naming his first child Conan, inspired by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1982 classic Conan the Barbarian. The following month, Travis fueled both engagement and baby rumors while discussing lab-grown diamonds on the podcast. Referring to French NBA player Victor Wembanyama’s towering height (7 feet tall), …
