Who wants to host the Commonwealth Games? After years of no nation raising their hand to answer that question, at least seven nations, including India, have thrown their hat into the ring to host the CWG, claims Commonwealth Sport. The governing body for the CWG has revealed that it had received official expressions of interest (EOIs) from seven nations and territories keen to explore hosting future editions of the CWG. While India’s interest in hosting the Commonwealth Games has been made public in the previous months, Commonwealth Sport confirmed that it had received EOIs from Canada and Nigeria, besides two more unnamed countries, to host the centenary Commonwealth Games in 2030.
