Bus collides with car amid thick fog in U.P., two dead

A bus collided head-on with a car amid dense fog in Amethi on Sunday (January 18, 2026), leaving two people dead and 10 others injured, police said. The accident occurred near Babu Ganj on the Raebareli-Sultanpur highway. According to police, the collision took place due to poor visibility caused by thick fog. The deceased were identified as Deepak Singh (45), a resident of Anni Baijal in Gauriganj, and Rituraj Yadav (35), a resident of Kaushambi. Both were travelling in the car and died on the spot. The injured were rushed to the district hospital in Gauriganj, where four were stated to be in a critical condition, police said. Station House Officer of Gauriganj police station, Shyam Narayan Pandey, said, “Four of the injured have suffered serious injuries, while the others sustained minor wounds. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and further investigation is underway”. Four killed as car collides with bus due to fog in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur

Four men were killed, and one was injured after the car they were travelling in collided with a Punjab Roadways bus on the Hoshiarpur-Dasuya road here on Saturday ((January 10, 2026) morning, police said. “The accident occurred due to poor visibility caused by dense fog,” the police said. The deceased were identified as Sukhwinder, Sushil Kumar, Brij Kumar and Arun Kumar, all residents of the Chalet village in Himachal Pradesh. The injured, identified as Amit Kumar of the same village, was admitted to the Civil Hospital in Hoshiarpur for treatment. Station House Officer of Hariana Sub-inspector Kiran Singh said the five men were travelling to Amritsar airport. “As the car reached near Dosarka, the driver could not notice the bus due to dense fog, leading to the collision,” he said. The death toll in the bus tragedy in Karnataka`s Chitradurga mounted to seven after the ill-fated bus driver succumbed to injuries in the wee hours on Friday.  As reported by news agency IANS, at least six people were burnt alive, and 21 others suffered burns after a sleeper coach bus caught fire following a collision with a container truck in the Chitradurga district of Karnataka on Thursday. Mohammad Rafeeq (42) was driving the bus when the unfortunate accident took place. He was a resident of Shiggaon in Haveri district. 9 killed as government bus collides with SUVs at Ezhuthur on Tiruchi-Chennai National Highway

Nine persons were killed and three others severely injured when a State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) bus jumped a median and collided with two SUVs at Ezhuthur near Thittakudi on Wednesday (December 24, 2025) night. The deceased, all of whom were occupants of the two cars, were being identified, the police said. The bus was proceeding to Chennai from Tiruchi when one of its front tyres burst. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which jumped the median and collided with the two SUVs. On being alerted, the Ramanatham police rushed to the spot. The bodies were retrieved and sent for a post-mortem. The accident caused major traffic disruption on the Tiruchi-Chennai National Highway. A 22-year-old man died and two others sustained injuries following a collision between a motorcycle and a car in East Delhi’s Krishna Nagar early on Monday, police said. The incident was reported around 4.10 am, police said, adding that officers found both the two-wheeler and the red car on the spot. Officers said that Sehbaaj, a resident of Khureji who was riding the two-wheeler, was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead. His cousin Sameer, who was riding pillion, is currently undergoing treatment, they also said. The driver of the Maruti Swift, identified as Rishabh from Sangam Vihar, was admitted to the hospital with injuries. Another occupant of the car allegedly fled after the crash and is yet to be traced, officers said. Police added that a case has been registered for rash and negligent driving causing death.
