Many families have shut off their DJB connections and are relying on private tankers, as fears grow over possible sewage mixing with drinking water in underground pipelines. An emergency meeting was convened on Tuesday between the affected residents and local MLA Satish Upadhyay — also the nominated DJB chairman — as authorities attempted to identify the source of the contamination affecting households in A, B, C and D blocks. Krishnan heard from civil society and industry groups representing social media firms, with the former expressing concerns on growing censorship of viral anti-establishment content on social media. At a 1 p.m. meeting with the Ministry, social media firms and other online firms asked for more time to send in comments on the draft amendment to the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
