SFI activists staging a protest in Hassan on Thursday extending support to students protesting in Delhi. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT College students of Hassan, on Thursday, staged a protest condemning the police action against the students protesting in Delhi and demanding the resignation of Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan. The students gathered under the banner of the Students Federation of India (SFI), took out a march from the Government Junior College for Boys to the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Along the march they raised slogans against the Union government and the Education Minister. SFI district secretary Ramesh Hassan, addressing the protesters, said that there were 89 incidents of paper leak in the recent years, yet there had been no sincere action to stop it. Nobody was held responsible for the inefficiency. “The Union government has lost morality to continue in power. The government forcibly took away Sonam Wangchuk on a hunger protest seeking justice. Instead of engaging with peaceful protesters through dialogue, the government used force to control them,” he stated. He also condemned …
