Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday rubbished remarks made by Rahul Gandhi suggesting that the NDA government at the Centre could collapse within a year, describing the statement as little more than “daydreaming”, reported the PTI. Responding to questions from reporters, Fadnavis compared Gandhi’s comments to the well-known television serial Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne, which centred on fanciful dreams and unrealistic expectations. “There was once a popular television programme called Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne. The Maharashtra Congress on Friday accused the BJP of “misusing” the occasion of the 150th anniversary of national song ‘Vande Mataram‘ for “political polarisation” and “hypocritical nationalism”.
