Temporary employees in Telangana govt in piquant situation as work continuation orders not issued
Employees working on temporary basis in different Telangana Government departments appear to have landed in a piquant situation. Several employees on contract, outsourcing, honorarium, activity outsourcing, daily wage and other categories are yet to get their remuneration since the beginning of the new financial year (2026-27) as the government is yet to give continuation orders for the fiscal 2026-27. In a memo issued recently, the Finance department said instances had come to its notice that remuneration to persons engaged on temporary basis was not being paid in time, inter alia, due to non-issue of continuation orders for the fiscal 2026-27. The department asked the Director of Treasuries, Director of State Audit and other departments concerned to admit bills relating to such temporary services up to June 30 without insisting on further continuation orders from the government. The departments in the meantime were asked to immediately process proposals for continuation of temporary services under their administrative control through the IFIMS portal.
