On Monday, the Court directed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to consider the objections raised by Major’s family and, if necessary, consult the Indian Army before granting clearance. On Tuesday, the board gave a green signal to the film, calling it a work of fiction. Ranveer Singh, Major Mohit Sharma Speaking to HT City, the late officer’s brother, Madhur Sharma now says, “I am sure they’ve followed the process and they were very quick to take a decision, which is good. Farhan Akhtar answers if he tried to ‘teach’ acting to Amitabh Bachchan during Lakshya, says Big B ‘was taking time to perform’: ‘Could’ve hurt him’  | Bollywood News

Farhan Akhtar may have reimagined Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic Don and sparked endless debates over who played the character better, Big B or Shah Rukh Khan. But that doesn’t mean the filmmaker isn’t a huge admirer of Bachchan. In fact, Farhan even directed the legendary superstar in the 2004 film Lakshya, which also starred Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, and Om Puri. In a recent conversation on Aap Ki Adalat, Farhan opened up about what it was like to work with the megastar and addressed an old claim made by Bachchan himself, that a young Farhan, then only one film old as a director, once tried to “teach” him acting. Farhan Akhtar accepts he might have hurt Amitabh Bachchan Responding to this with honesty and humour, Farhan clarified: “No, no. This isn’t what I intended. I very vividly remember what happened. Naseeruddin Shah’s public criticism of my work was ‘distasteful’, says Farhan Akhtar: ‘He’s known me since I was a child, could’ve called me’ | Bollywood News

Back in 2013, veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah was brutal with his opinion of Farhan Akhtar’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, which was based on the life of Olympian Milkha Singh. At the time, Naseer had said, “I don’t care about Farhan Akhtar, and I don’t watch his films.” In a recent interaction with India TV, Farhan responded to Naseeruddin Shah’s old comments and called his public criticism “distasteful.” Farhan pointed out that since he had known Naseer from childhood, the remark deeply disappointed him. “I have known him for so many years. We worked together in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. He knows me ever since I was a child. He is a great performer and a great actor, but the only thing that I didn’t like was that if you want me to improve in my work, then there is a way of communicating that.” Calling Naseer’s approach of correcting him “distasteful,” Farhan added, “I would have picked up a phone and told the person to come home. I have watched your film and I found these …

Big Tech tax breaks could’ve funded benefits for millions, Senator Warren finds

President Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” is handing out billions in tax breaks, and a new analysis from Senator Elizabeth Warren’s (D-MA) office is demonstrating just how substantial those sums are. Under the law, Google’s parent company, Alphabet, will save around $17.9 billion in taxes this year, an amount that Warren’s office found could’ve paid for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for 7.5 million Americans. That sum could cover Medicaid for around 2.3 million adults, or 5.4 million children, according to Warren’s office. Amazon’s anticipated tax break for this year is similarly large at around $15.7 billion — enough to provide SNAP benefits for 6.6 million Americans, or Medicaid for 2 million adults. Meanwhile, Microsoft’s estimated $12.5 billion tax cut in 2026 could lower Affordable Care Act (ACA) premiums for 1.9 million people. “Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress are knocking millions of Americans off their health insurance and ripping away food assistance from families — all so they can fund giant tax cuts for billionaires and giant corporations,” Senator Warren says in a …

Virender Sehwag Questions Virat Kohli’s Retirement Call Again: “Could’ve Played Easily…”

Legendary Indian cricket team batter Virender Sehwag once again questioned Virat Kohli‘s decision to announce his retirement from Tests. Following Kohli’s 25-ball-43 knock for Royal Challengers Bengaluru during the IPL 2025 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Sehwag said that the star batter could have easily played for two more years considering his level of fitness. Kohli decided to bid farewell to the format ahead of the five-match series against England but Sehwag maintained that he had two more years in him. “Definitely. I feel he retired too early from the Test format. He could’ve played easily for two years, the way he maintains fitness. But only Virat Kohli can tell the reasons behind the decision. It’s a player’s personal decision based on his will, or whether he feels exhausted,” Sehwag said on Cricbuzz. “But according to me, the way he played, and the way he showed energy, it feels he could’ve easily played for two years,” he added while analysing Virat’s performance after the encounter. Shubman Gill has been appointed as India’s 37th Test …

Speaking to The Indian Express, Vengsarkar suggested that Kohli should’ve retired after the upcoming tour of England, but admitted it’s the former India captain’s call at the end of the day. “I’m surprised with the decision of Virat Kohli to retire especially because the big England tour is coming up in June.
