Assi Box Office Collections Day 9: Taapsee Pannu’s courtroom drama registers 30 percent spike on 2nd Saturday, hits Rs 7.50 crore mark

Assi Box Office Collections Day 9: Taapsee Pannu’s courtroom drama registers 30 percent spike on 2nd Saturday, hits Rs 7.50 crore mark

Assi, directed by Anubhav Sinha, registered a 30 percent spike on its second Saturday after entering the new weekend with Rs. 40 lakh. As per estimates, the movie added Rs. 60 lakh to the tally, bringing its second weekend’s cume to Rs 1 crore in two days.  Currently standing at Rs. 7.50 crore nett mark, Assi is expected to add another Rs. 50-70 lakh on its Day 10, bringing its second weekend’s cume to somewhere around Rs. 1.50 crore or so, which will eventually make it pass the Rs. 8 crore mark.  However, this sort of theatrical run won’t be able to help it in turning tables in its favour as the damage has already done. The Taapsee Pannu starrer courtroom drama revolving around a hard-hitting and brutal case managed to impress the audience but couldn’t post the kind of growth it needed for a successful theatrical run.  The previous film of Taapsee and Anubhav Sinha was Thappad, which had performed far better and went on to smash over Rs. 30 crore at the box …

Assi Box Office Collections: Taapsee Pannu and Anubhav Sinha’s courtroom drama nears Rs 7 crore in 8 days

Assi Box Office Collections: Taapsee Pannu and Anubhav Sinha’s courtroom drama nears Rs 7 crore in 8 days

Assi, directed by Anubhav Sinha, registered a drop of 20-25 per cent on its 2nd Friday, adding around Rs. 40 lakh to the tally. Generally, the bigger centre films tend to hold better on Fridays, some even grow but here the business dropped. This brings its total 8-day cume to Rs. 6.90 crore nett at the Indian box office.  Backed by T-Series Films and Benaras Mediaworks, Assi should get growth over the weekend. The Taapsee Pannu starrer is currently looking to add Rs. 1.75 crore to Rs. 2 crore to the tally this weekend, which will take its total cume to Rs. 8 crore or so. Based on the current trends, Assi is heading to wind its theatrical run on a dismal note, somewhere around Rs. 10 crore nett mark, which doesn’t take it anywhere.  The previous collaboration between Anubhav Sinha and Taapsee Pannu was Thappad, which debuted with Rs. 2.75 crore and went on to collect Rs. 13.50 crore nett in its opening weekend. Thappad eventually recovered its cost of production and ended its theatrical run around Rs. 30 crore nett, …

Assi Box Office Collections: Taapsee Pannu’s courtroom drama adds Rs 50 lakh on Day 7, wraps first week at Rs. 6.50 crore

Assi Box Office Collections: Taapsee Pannu’s courtroom drama adds Rs 50 lakh on Day 7, wraps first week at Rs. 6.50 crore

Assi starring Taapsee Pannu in the lead role is holding decently but at the low levels. The movie added Rs. 50 lakh to the tally on its Day 7, bringing the total cume to Rs. 6.50 crore in its opening week.  The courtroom drama, directed by Anubhav Sinha, met with majorly positive reception, it still couldn’t post the kind of growth it needed in its first week. The movie should now aim to record a big jump in its second weekend in order to reach a respectable figure. However, it won’t get a clear run as The Kerala Story is releasing in cinemas this weekend. Though it isn’t a trouble as of now but you never know how such movies can take a sensational route, eventually becoming a threat like its predeccesor.  Co-starring Kani Kusruti, Revathy, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Assi had a lowkey promotional strategy, which is why it couldn’t ignite the interest among the audience. All eyes are now on its second weekend hold.  The previous collaboration between Anubhav Sinha and Taapsee …

Assi Box Office Collections: Taapsee Pannu’s courtroom drama records muted drop, collects Rs 45 lakh on Day 6

Assi Box Office Collections: Taapsee Pannu’s courtroom drama records muted drop, collects Rs 45 lakh on Day 6

Assi, directed by Anubhav Sinha, and starring Taapsee Pannu in the lead role, regsitered another drop on its first Wednesday. Though the drop isn’t big but it is coming from an already low figure, so that doesn’t make any cut. Estimates suggest that the movie collected Rs. 45 lakh on Day 6, bringing the cume to Rs. 5.60 crore nett at the Indian box office.  Co-starring Kani Kusruti, Revathy, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, the courtroom drama will face The Kerala Story 2 from the coming weekend. Since the movie has recieved a favourable word-of-mouth, it should see a spike on the second weekend.  One of the major factors why the Taapsee Pannu film isn’t gaining the required traction is lack of interest among the audience. The movie had lowkey promotions, which also affected its box office potential.  Furthermore, audience now has a notion of considering such films as OTT movies, as they have now build enough patience to wait for movies’ digital release. The stakeholders needs to disrupt this patience and elongate …

Assi Box Office Collections: Taapsee Pannu and Anubhav Sinha’s courtroom drama drops on discounted Tuesday, collects Rs 5 crore in 5 days

Assi Box Office Collections: Taapsee Pannu and Anubhav Sinha’s courtroom drama drops on discounted Tuesday, collects Rs 5 crore in 5 days

Assi, directed by Anubhav Sinha, and starring Taapsee Pannu in the lead role, witnessed a drop on its first discounted Tuesday, when the ticket fares were deducted to affordable rates. The drop is very disappointing as the movie should have record a spike ideally.  The courtroom drama collected Rs. 50 lakh on its Day 5, bringing its total cume to Rs. 5.15 crore nett at the Indian box office. It is expected to wind its first week around Rs. 6 crore nett or so. The way Assi is performing, it’s nothing but disappointing. Since the movie has received mainly positive word-of-mouth, it still didn’t see any sort of growth at the box office.  If the movie continues with the same pace, it will only tank at the box office, emerging another failure this year. One of the major reasons why Assi isn’t picking up is the lack of awareness around its release, as the promotional strategy was very lukewarm. Furthermore, audience now has a notion of considering such films as OTT movies, as they have …

Taapsee Pannu’s Courtroom Drama Faces A Tough Sunday With An Unbelievable Drop!

Assi Box Office Day 3 (Early Trends): Faces A Tough Sunday! ( Photo Credit – YouTube ) In a shocking turn of events, Taapsee Pannu’s latest courtroom drama Assi hit a roadblock on the opening day itself. While Sundays are typically the biggest day for mid-budget content-driven films, the early trends for Day 3 suggest a downfall for the social drama helmed by Anubhav Sinha! Such films usually thrive on family audiences and positive word-of-mouth during the weekend. While Saturday hit a positive growth for the film, Sunday has headed in an opposite direction. After a lukewarm start, it was expected to show a healthy jump which unfortunately did not happen! Assi Box Office Day 3 Estimates As per the early trends, on the first Sunday, February 22, day 3, Assi registered a collection of 1.4 – 1.5 crore only. This is an unusual drop from the previous day, which brought 1.6 crore at the box office. For a film featuring a powerhouse performer like Taapsee Pannu, these numbers are underwhelming, especially considering it’s a …

Tripura High Court orders woman to stand in courtroom until end of day in contempt case

Tripura High Court orders woman to stand in courtroom until end of day in contempt case

Acting as a tough taskmaster in a contempt proceeding over a matrimonial dispute, the Tripura High Court recently ordered a woman to stand in the courtroom until it had risen for the day. A division bench of Justices T Amarnath Goud and Biswajit Palit was hearing the contempt plea against a woman for non-compliance with the terms of the divorce settlement and publicly made allegations against the judges who passed the order. “This Court takes serious note of such conduct and reiterates that if any litigant is aggrieved by an order, legal remedies are always available,” the order passed on December 11 2025, said. The court added that addressing the media and issuing press statements is not a remedy that can be appreciated by this court. “As a measure of punishment, this court directs that she shall stand in the court till the court rises. Considering her status as a woman and taking a lenient view, the said punishment is imposed,” the bench ruled. Background The case stems from the 2023 divorce settlement, under which …
