The crackdown on the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has intensified overseas, with an alleged associate arrested in France and another ordered to be deported from Canada, days after US authorities indicted jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his close aide Satinderjeet Singh alias Goldy Brar. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said on Friday that Garinder Dev, an alleged Bishnoi gang associate, had been arrested in France and would face extradition proceedings to Canada. Mr. Gowda said that notices had already been stuck on vehicles parked on footpaths. He directed officials to issue notices to vehicle owners to ensure they follow the rules and avoid further violations. The Minister has also asked officials to identify locations where the cleared vehicles can be kept. Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood has ordered an inspection drive of coaching centres across the city, directing agencies to check if major student hubs are complying with fire-safety and building norms. During a high-level meeting, Sood asked the Delhi Development Authority, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) and the Delhi Disaster Management Authority to conduct inspections in areas like Mukherjee Nagar, Rajender Nagar and Katwaria Sarai. Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay on Tuesday said all district magistrates have been instructed to carry out a comprehensive survey of coaching institutes operating in their districts and prepare a detailed list of such establishments. According to the directions issued by the Higher Education Department, coaching centres operating without registration under the Uttar Pradesh Coaching Regulation Act, 2002, will face action as per the provisions of the law. The government has also ordered inspections of registered coaching institutes to assess compliance with safety and infrastructure norms. The inspections will cover building safety, fire-fighting arrangements, electrical safety and other essential facilities available for students. “Students’ safety and quality education cannot be compromised. IRCTC launches crackdown on unauthorised e-catering operators

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched a nationwide crackdown on unauthorised e-catering operators allegedly offering food delivery services to railway passengers without approval, officials said. The move is aimed at protecting passengers from food safety risks, cyber fraud and financial losses linked to unauthorised websites and mobile applications that misuse IRCTC`s branding and services, an official statement said. IRCTC said it has initiated legal and criminal proceedings against several operators found to be offering unauthorised food delivery services on the Indian Railways network. According to IRCTC, a legal notice was first issued to non-compliant operators on 18 February 2026. This was followed by official criminal complaints filed on 16 March and 11 April 2026. The organisation stated that action has been initiated against several websites allegedly involved in unauthorised railway food delivery activities, including RailRestro, RailMitra, TravelKhana, TrainsCafe, DibRail, RailFood, ComeSum, TravelerFood, FoodOnTrack.in, eCatering.app, KhanaOnline, TrainWay, RailMeal and TrainMenu.
