Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain passed away on Monday (December 16, 2024) in a San Francisco hospital. Hussain was 73 and succumbed to complications due to a rare and progressive lung condition, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He was in the hospital for the past two weeks and shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) after his health deteriorated. Ustad Zakir Hussain has left a void that cannot be filled. While the world mourns his demise, for some, the loss is personal. Singer, composer Hariharan is devastated as he shares, “The world has lost a legend, and I have lost a brother. And now that the film has recently dropped on an OTT platform, there’s something very unusual we have noticed. The makers have completely changed the climax scene of the film for its web release, so much so that an entire 15-minute chunk that included an unforeseen twist, has been chopped off. This is after the film managed to make Rs 1 crore on the first Tuesday, as per Sacnilk. On the first Monday too, Crakk earned ₹1 crore. During the first week, Crakk – which follows a man from the slums of Mumbai to the world of extreme underground sports –  minted ₹8.80 crore at the domestic box office. Vidyut Jammwal, who headlines the film, has also jointly produced the project with Abbas Sayyed. In a post shared on X [formerly Twitter], Vidyut Jammwal alleged that film critic Sumit Kadel had asked for a bribe and added that he refused to give in to the demand. He also insinuated that Mr Kadel had allegedly taken bribes from other people in the industry in return for praise. The post was attached to a screenshot, which revealed that Vidyut Jammwal had been blocked by Sumit Kadel on the micro-blogging platform.
