Cricket South Africa has unveiled the CSA central contract for the 2026-27 season, where Dewald Brevis and Corbin Bosch have been handed maiden contracts. The announcement comes in a period where the men’s national team is aiming to defend its ICC World Test Championship title while also preparing for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 on home soil. Meanwhile, Ottneil Baartman and Matthew Breetzke have also been included in the national contracts, while Simon Harmer has been awarded a hybrid contract. The change in the contracts comes on the basis of the introduction of the Players of National Interest (PONIs) category, designed to identify top Division 1 players as part of the national pipeline and strengthen the squad across all formats.
