Cops arrested three persons from a car and seized two country made pistols and seven live cartridges from their possession on Thursday following an incident where the trio opened fire at Pimpri Chinchwad police personnel near Somatane toll post in the early hours of the day. Police identified the three accused as Sunnysingh Papasingh Dudhani (24), Jalsingh Rajputsingh Dudhani (32), both residents of Hadapsar and Manish Babulal Kushwaha (28) of Morena in Madhya Pradesh. The three are criminals wanted in a prior theft case. Acting on a tip-off to police havaldar Vikaram Kudal, a crime branch team from Pimpri Chinchwad police, led by senior inspector Arvind Pawar, laid a trap at Somatane Phata to nab the suspects wanted in a theft case lodged at Ravet police station. The suspects reached the spot around 5.30 am in a car that they had stolen from Hinjewadi area a few days ago.
