Cricket South Africa (CSA) has revised and expanded the India Women’s tour of South Africa, adding a three-match T20I series. The tour, originally set to comprise a warm-up game, three ODIs and a one-off test between December 06 and 23, has been reworked to include three T20Is. Under the revised schedule, the tour will run until December 30, with the test to be played first, followed by the ODI and T20I series. The T20Is will be a preparation for both sides ahead of the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka in February. The ODI games will be played across Paarl, Cape Town and Bloemfontein. The final leg of India’s tour will constitute the T20Is, starting with fixtures on Boxing Day in Benoni. The Gauteng High Court has directed Cricket South Africa (CSA) to allow Tabraiz Shamsi to complete his stint in ILT20 2025-26. The left-arm wristspinner, who has played 127 international matches across formats, withdrew from his contract with MI Cape Town in the SA20 earlier this year to take up offers in other T20 leagues overseas, including ILT20 in the UAE and the Big Bash League in Australia. Shamsi joined MI Cape Town for R500,000 in September’s SA20 auction but successfully sought a release from his contract, citing personal reasons, and breached the terms of his auction agreement. Cricket South Africa (CSA) has revealed a report that the board has yielded a significant turnaround in revenue for the 2023-24 fiscal year. The South Africa board has announced a profit of R815 million for the previous year after hosting India for two tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is in December- January and benefitting from the SA20 league. The majority shareholder in the T20 tournament, CSA has earned a profit of R54 million which boasted a double-digit growth. CSA has reported a loss in the last three seasons 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-23 which collectively amounted to R538 million. The turnaround was mostly due to increased revenue derived from broadcast rights, which make up 54% of the CSA income. Hosting the successful hosting of the 2024 U19 men’s World Cup which was moved to South Africa from Sri Lanka and generated revenue of R54 million.
