Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain has said the devastating floods in her home state of Assam have made it difficult for her to fully concentrate on her campaign at the Commonwealth Games 2026, while urging people to support those affected by the disaster. The 28-year-old boxer has already secured at least a bronze medal in the women’s 75kg event after receiving a direct entry into the semi-finals due to a five-boxer draw. Speaking in a video message from Glasgow, Lovlina expressed concern over the impact of the floods, which have claimed lives and displaced thousands across the state. “I am feeling very bad that a lot of people have lost their lives because of the flood in Assam. Many people have lost their homes and everything has been washed away. People are struggling to get food, water, clothes and other necessities,” she said.
