Speaking at the News18 Rising Bharat Summit 2026, Vaishnaw addressed questions on whether India could follow countries like Australia in restricting social media access for minors. Referring to the recently enacted Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the minister said India had already set a global benchmark. “In the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, we created a new template for the world and it’s recognised everywhere.
