‘One dangerous habit of India is calling every stomach issue gas’: Doctor explains why | Health News

4 min readNew DelhiJun 4, 2026 10:00 PM IST Many people casually attribute recurring digestive complaints to gas and often rely on over-the-counter remedies for temporary relief. However, doctors warn that persistent symptoms such as burning, burping, bloating, nausea, or upper abdominal discomfort may sometimes point to an underlying medical condition rather than routine indigestion. In a recent Instagram video, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Sports Doctor Dr Manan Vora highlighted what he described as a common misconception. He said, “One dangerous habit of India, which we call every stomach issue, is gas. Burning inside, gas. Burping, gas. Nausea after food, gas. But if your gas keeps coming back again and again, it may not be a normal gas issue. It might be H. pylori.” He explained that “H. pylori is a bacterium that lives in the lining of your stomach. It usually spreads through contaminated food, water, saliva or poor hygiene. And once it enters, it can survive the stomach acid. That’s why this is not the same as regular bloating or indigestion (sic).” DISCLAIMER: This …

Jeremiah Louis struck on helmet by Jayden Seales bouncer as dangerous pitch forces West Indies domestic match abandonment in Antigua

3 min readApr 22, 2026 06:34 PM IST A domestic red ball cricket match between Trinidad & Tobago and Leeward Islands in the West Indies Championship was abandoned due to a dangerous pitch at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua after Jeremiah Louis was hit on the helmet while batting. The umpires decided to abandon the match early on Tuesday (Day 3 of the match) after the Leeward Islands seamer Louis was struck on the helmet by fast bowler Jayden Seales. Louis was subsequently taken to a hospital with a suspected concussion after a short-pitched delivery from Trinidad and Tobago and West Indies seamer Jayden Seales rose sharply and struck him on the side of the head during the first session of day three. Louis collapsed to the ground before removing his helmet and striking the turf in frustration. He then kicked his helmet toward a short-leg fielder and walked off toward the pavilion. Twenty-seven wickets had fallen across the three days, one of only 12 fixtures in a reduced domestic First-Class season. A …

IPL: How Eshan Malinga became Sunrisers’ most dangerous bowler | Cricket News

Roshan Abeysinghe didn’t need much. Just a short video on a phone. In it, a 20-year-old bowled to three sticks on dry land. Lean figure. Rhythmic run-up. No pitch, no opposition, no gallery. And no shoes worth the name — what covered his feet was broken in ways shoes shouldn’t be. The city was Ratnapura. The land of rubies and sapphires. The boy’s name was Eshan Malinga. Chamila Gamage, a renowned fast bowling coach in Sri Lanka, had stumbled on him by chance. There was no club. No team. Just the boy and the stumps and that run-up. Gamage sent the video to Abeysinghe with a simple request: give him a game at Ragama Cricket Club. “He was bowling with a broken pair of shoes,” Abeysinghe says. He is the president of Ragama CC and a respected voice in Sri Lanka cricket. He had watched the video once. That was enough. Eshan had, by then, already announced himself in a small way. A private initiative had gone looking for the fastest bowler on the island, …

Vikram plays a dangerous cook in Chiyaan 63. Watch teaser | Tamil News

2 min readMumbaiApr 17, 2026 09:52 PM IST It is Chiyaan Vikram’s birthday today, and as a special gift for fans, the makers of his next film with director Anand Shankar, tentatively titled Chiyaan 63, unveiled a teaser titled First Flame. The movie marks the second collaboration between Vikram and Anand, following their 2016 actioner Iru Mugan. The over one-minute-long teaser opens with a voiceover against a black screen, introducing two characters discussing Vikram’s character. One asks, “Who is this guy?” The other responds, “Just a cook,” before adding cautiously, “But don’t take him lightly, he is dangerous.” The scene then shifts to people violently banging on the doors of what appears to be a warehouse, presented in a sepia-toned black-and-white palette. Another voice is heard saying, “We are already in, we will handle him,” followed by another line: “So many of us and he is still not breaking a sweat.” This is followed by a character adding, “Light this baby up, let’s watch him run.” Also Read | ‘What Shah Rukh brought to Aryan …

Josh Hazlewood’s fake slower ball — and why it makes him RCB’s most dangerous weapon in IPL 2026 | Cricket News

Josh Hazlewood’s fake slower ball — and why it makes him RCB’s most dangerous weapon in IPL 2026 | Cricket News

The grip suggested a slower ball. The loading suggested a slower ball. Nicholas Pooran, one of the most destructive left-handers in T20 cricket, read it as the slower ball. The ball arrived at 140.6 kmph. Pooran was late. It was Wednesday night at Chinnaswamy. Hazlewood had just taken his first wicket of IPL 2026 — on his return from injury, in front of a crowd that knows him well. He had already forced Rishabh Pant off, retired hurt, after striking his right elbow with a sharp lifter. The delivery that dismissed Pooran explained everything: why he is central to RCB’s title defence — and why the IPL took so long to fully value him. Andre Adams has a simple explanation for why Hazlewood works in T20 cricket, even when conventional wisdom said he shouldn’t. “He’s not super fast. But he’s fast enough.” For years, that was the issue. While Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins drew headline contracts, Hazlewood waited. He wasn’t express pace, went the logic. Too predictable in his lengths for a format built …
