World becoming more multi-polar makes compelling case for deeper multilateralism: Jaishankar

The world is indeed becoming “more multi-polar”, which makes a compelling case for “deeper multilateralism”, and collectively, prosperity can only come through mutual respect and understanding, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Sunday (December 7, 2025). In his address at the opening ceremony of a key UNESCO meeting on Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) at the Red Fort complex, he also told delegates from various countries that in the “shared quest for progress and prosperity”, it is essential to nurture inheritance, build on it and pass it on to the future generations. The 20th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage will take place at the Red Fort from December 8 to 13. This is the first time that India is hosting a session of the UNESCO panel. Mr. Jaishankar underlined that India, besides being home to many UNESCO World Heritage Sites, has itself undertaken many preservation and conservation projects across the world. PV Sindhu’s tribute to retiring Tai Tzu-ying: ‘I hated playing you; your wristwork, your deception, your calm brilliance made me dig deeper than I ever imagined’ | Badminton News

While her retirement has been on the cards for a while now, badminton star Tai Tzu-ying confirmed on Friday that she is officially bidding farewell to the sport where she delighted fans around her world with her artistry. Considered one of the most graceful players to have played the sport, the former world No 1 in women’s singles was known for her deception – the ability to change the direction of the shuttle at the last possible moment with a flick of her racket. “A beautiful chapter has come to an end. Thank you, badminton, for everything you have given me,” she wrote on Instagram. “Last year was the toughest time of my career. Before the Olympics, I wasn’t sure if my injured foot would allow me to compete, but I gave it my all. Others didn’t give up on me, so I couldn’t give up on myself. Eventually, my injuries forced me to leave the court. I couldn’t end my career the way I had hoped, and it took me a while to come …

Vedhan Last week, when India’s defence forces launched Operation Sindoor targeting terror networks in Pakistan, M.K. Stalin was among the first Chief Ministers to commend the military action. He made it clear that Tamil Nadu stood resolute with the Indian Army in its fight against terrorism. Two days later, Mr. Stalin announced plans to lead a solidarity rally in Chennai. “This is a time to unite and show our support for the Indian Army, which is courageously confronting Pakistan’s repeated violations and acts of terrorism,” he declared. Even Chief Ministers belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) did not wear their patriotism on their sleeve as visibly as Mr. Stalin did, with such a public display of support for the armed forces, especially when it was too early to judge whether the military operations would escalate into a war. However, by the time Mr. Stalin completed the 3.8-kilometre march on …

Tesla’s Cybertruck is getting deeper discounts and production cuts

Tesla’s Cybertruck is getting deeper discounts and production cuts

Tesla has plenty of Cybertrucks listed on its website, and they’ve got some hefty discounts, including many for about $10,000 off, Electrek reports. Many are from the 2024 model year and include limited “Foundation Series” Cybertrucks that ended production in October, plus some lightly used “demo” ones we saw that have racked up around 300 miles on the odometer. Some Cybertruck models in stock won’t be eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit either due to their age or because the sticker price is too high. But as of this writing, interested buyers could get more than that with the available discounts, including as much as a $11,990 cut off a top Cyberbeast model that usually sells for $119,990. In January, the company offered up to $2,600 off inventory Cybertrucks. Business Insider reports Tesla is also slowing down Cybertruck manufacturing at its Texas factory and shrinking its production teams. Some line workers are being moved over to build better-selling Model Y vehicles, but it, too, has seen a year-over-year decline in sales as reported by …
