A court in Nashik on Saturday deferred the hearing on the bail application of Nida Khan, an accused in the alleged sexual harassment and forced religious conversion case at Tata Consultancy Services` (TCS) Nashik unit, to June 12. Additional Sessions Judge KG Joshi (Nashik Road) adjourned the matter and scheduled the next hearing for June 12. The bail pleas filed by co-accused Danish Sheikh and Tausif Attar will also be heard on the same day, news agency PTI reported. Khan was arrested from Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and remanded in judicial custody on May 11. Her custody was later extended, and her bail plea was listed for hearing on Saturday. The development comes a day after the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case filed its second charge sheet before a Nashik court. According to officials, the latest charge sheet pertains to eight first information reports (FIRs) registered at Mumbai Naka Police Station under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Khan, who was arrested in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, had been remanded to judicial custody on May 11 until May 24. Her custody was subsequently extended, and the hearing on her bail plea had been scheduled for May 30. On Saturday (May 30, 2026), Additional Sessions Judge K.G. A Delhi court on Monday granted additional time to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to file verification reports in the alleged land-for-job corruption case involving Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, his family members, and other accused.   Special Judge (Prevention of Corruption Act) Vishal Gogne of the Rouse Avenue Courts deferred the hearing on the framing of charges till December 19 after the probe agency sought more time to file verification reports of all accused persons. The court is examining whether charges are to be framed under Sections 120B, 420, 467, 468, and 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. New Delhi, The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed the Delhi High Court to consider afresh the applications for conferring senior designations to lawyers whose applications were either rejected or deferred. Senior designations: SC directs Delhi HC to consider applications of rejected, deferred candidates A bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Ujjal Bhuyan said the appropriate solution would be to direct the high court to consider the cases of the deferred and rejected candidates in accordance with the High Court of Delhi Designations of Senior Advocates Rules, 2024. Prima facie, the court said, the issue was that the marks assigned by one member were not considered. “The registrar general will take steps for the reconstitution of the permanent committee in terms of Rule 3 of the 2024 Rules. The applications of the deferred and rejected applicants shall be again placed before the permanent committee which shall be processed in accordance with the Rules 2024,” the bench said. Bank strike postponed: 2-day nationwide strike deferred after assurance from Finance Ministry

The decision to defer the strike called on March 24 and 35 was taken before the Chief Labour Commissioner who had called all parties for a conciliation meeting. Bank unions on Friday decided to postpone their two-day nationwide strike called for March 24 and 25 after they received positive assurance from both the Finance Ministry and the IBA on their demands, including a five-day work week and adequate recruitment in all cadres. The strike call was given by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), an umbrella organisation of nine bank employees’ associations. The decision to defer the strike was taken before the Chief Labour Commissioner who had called all parties for a conciliation meeting.  UFBU is a collective that includes nine bank unions representing more than eight lakh employees and officers in public sector banks, private sector banks, foreign banks, co-op banks and regional rural banks.
