Sultanpuri accident updates LIVE: Victim and her friend, Nidhi, knew each other for 15 days

The horrific death of a 20-year-old woman in Delhi, who was hit and dragged by a car for nearly 12 kilometres after midnight when it was already New Year’s day (Sunday to be precise) has triggered massive uproar across the national capital. Identified as Anjali Singh, the woman was hit by a grey Baleno car that had five men inside, and a CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced. The men, who have been arrested, told police they had bought alcohol and consumed it while driving to Murthal and back, and that they were unaware of someone being stuck under their vehicle. However, Anjali’s friend ‘Nidhi’ refuted the claims of the five accused saying the victim had shouted for help after her foot got trapped under the car but the men “continued to drive”. Nidhi alleged that the men tried to hit her as well, but she escaped with minor injuries.
