Kejriwal moves trust motion, BJP alleges bid to duck court, ED | Delhi News
On the eve of his appearance in a city court in connection with a complaint filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday moved a motion of confidence in the Assembly, alleging a conspiracy to destabilise his government. The Assembly will discuss the motion on Saturday, the day Kejriwal is scheduled to appear in the court in response to the ED complaint against him for skipping repeated summons for questioning in the excise policy case. The AAP convener has also been summoned for the sixth time by the central probe agency on Monday. While the Chief Minister said the motion was necessary given an alleged bid by the BJP to destabilise his government, Leader of Opposition and BJP MLA Ramvir Singh Bidhuri alleged that it was a ploy to avoid his appearance in court on Saturday and evade appearing before the ED on Monday.
