The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) detected Rs 68.53 lakh in cash from two Indian passengers at Delhi airport on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. The passengers were scheduled to travel to Guwahati on an IndiGo flight and then continue their journey to Agartala. The cash was subsequently handed over to Income Tax officials for further action. According to the CISF, its personnel deployed at the Random X-BIS noticed one passenger during behavioural observation at the check-in area. During a subsequent review of CCTV footage, another passenger who was travelling with him was also identified. The two passengers were scheduled to travel on IndiGo flight 6E-2203 to Guwahati before continuing to Agartala. Cash worth over Rs 68 lakh detected The matter was immediately brought to the attention of Income Tax officials. During the screening of the passengers’ baggage, a substantial amount of cash was detected. The Income Tax officials subsequently counted and verified the money. The Delhi High Court (HC) on Friday refused to set a fixed timeline for the conclusion of the trial in the Shraddha Walkar murder case against accused Aaftab Amin Poonawala, observing that the proceedings were already being conducted on a day-to-day basis. Justice Madhu Jain, while hearing a petition filed by Walkar’s brother seeking time-bound completion of the trial, said that the court was making all efforts to conclude the proceedings at the earliest. “It is clear that the trial court is making every endeavour to conclude the trial as soon as possible. No further directions are required as the trial is going on a day to day basis,” the court said. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a charge sheet against 13 accused in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case before the Rouse Avenue Court in New Delhi, reported the ANI. The charge sheet was submitted by the CBI’s Economic Offences unit and is expected to come up before a special fast-track court on Wednesday. The case has been registered under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. The charges relate to alleged examination fraud, criminal conspiracy, corruption and the use of unfair means during a public examination.
